As long as you don't turn into a fundamentalist, I'm ok with whatever you believe.

I just hope that when people read what i say, they question things more, question themselves, their job, their surrounding and start piecing their life and surrounding together.

Meditation of me is great for getting people on track. If you ever find yourself procrastinating, meditate :)

I agree with that, we should always question everything, people don't do that enough. I've been doing it for awhile now.

And funny you mention meditation, I've been looking into that recently.

The whole article is uncaring and treats mental disorders as something to be rediculed and as non-human. Psycopathy is a result of reduced connectivity between the prefrontal cortex and the amygdalla. They also have reduced connectivity in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex which is strongly linked with empathy. This is a situation of someone being born with psysiological disorders in the brain, ie. mental disorders.

You could one hundred percent carry the argument from this article to also apply to other mental disorders such as ADD, which I have. Neuron activity and connectivity problems in the frontal lobes, inhibitory mechanisms of the cortex, limbic system, and reticular activating system are widely considered as the core causes of ADD. These are problems that are physical just like pyschopathy is a physical issue of the brain. The fact this uncaring idiot calls these people not human is simply pathetic.

and how many times have i said now, the article was not aimed at ALL people with these disorders, it's aimed at those corporate executives who are ruthless, narcissistic uncaring and have no soul.

It's not my article, it's not as clear as it could be, but your beating at a point we moved past quite a while ago.

I don't necessarily agree with the term psychopath or agree with them being non human but where i do agree is there certain narcissistic people who no amount of education an hep them.

Now remind me of your arguments, oh and don't use any spiritual lingo because this is a scientifc discussion, so stop bringing them up. They have no evidence behind them. You absolutely cannot talk about spiritual terms that have no scientific validity to explain physiological disorders in the brain. Do you think your argument would fly in a medical journal under peer review? I can see it now, "Because the subject has no ability to use his third eye...", just stop using these terms.

Ohh for f**k sake, how many times.

This IS a spiritual DISCUSSION! This has EVERYTHING to do with spirituality. Hence why i posted it because i've seen the same thing reworded on many sites which enter around spirit subjects. There's not a lot of science involved here. It's all to do with chakras and all that shizz you don't like and feel is nonsense.

Seriously, how many handicapped people with autism, even know what narcissism and cold heated backstabbing is?

Does the OP REALLY seem as if it's attacking people like this?

Or this beautiful man here?

Do these people really look like c**** who manipulate others for their own good? Really?

"Because the subject has no ability to use his third eye..."

I use my third eye a lot. It's 100% real, again like your thoughts, it's not something to be seen, it's something to be felt, and you can see the evidence in the persons behavior. Want proof, look at my posts, just here, before July 28 2011, and look after. I said before, i can't feel depressed anymore, depression is when a person cannot see the future, so he looks only back of his past in regret.

Again, this is spiritual this is the signals being sent down by consciousness to your individual higher self and spirit. Nothing to do with Autism!

People wonder why certain drugs are considered 'dangerous' and banned from use by the Government...

...Read a book called The Illuminatus Trilogy"... And whilst the title is a little misleading and may make people think it's a completely fictional piece devoid of anything realistic. It explains a whole lot, about a whole lot...

I am calling out the poster for being uncaring of mental disorders and for not understanding the subject he is talking about because that is what he is doing. Half the time many people with mental disorders don't have the confidence or self belief to stand up for themselves and explain to others what obstacles they have, so I particularly get upset when people hold views like this poster.

Elkano, again, I medidate DAILY, I know all about these terms and am not belittling them in the like of some ignorant person who has never attempted to realize these states of mind. I do however feel they are far overused terms that only true yogies can really relate to and not people even like myself who commonly meditate.

Sure I have had meditations where I was literally unaware of my physical surroundings, but I didn't feel I unlocked any special powers, I just knew I was extremely relaxed and my brain had entered a state where distracting thoughts floated by instead of causing unrest from habitual training. I have read about neurplasticity and think it can explain how training the brain with meditation can cause physical changes.

I really don't believe in using any of these terms because first off they just sound lame like something out of d&d or some rpg. Secondly, I believe they are just fancy terms to describe biologic occurances. Just because my body left an anxious state and I have trained my brain to not react to distractive thoughts doesn't mean I have unlocked my super saiyan powers.

should have a heads up on who has had a mental illness or lived with someone who has,the figures here are 1 in 5 people suffer at some point of mental illness.the figure i imagine would then be lower for people to have had daily contact with a person who has suffered a mental illness.

MG, I think you and Elk are basically at a cross fire over the definition of the word "psychopath".

Again, I haven't read the whole argument. But just based on my skimmings of this page and the last, Elk's using the word "psychopath" in a new context, almsot redefining it as someone that is spiritually dead because/based on their materialism and greed (relating to their chakras)... which has no relation to any kind of dissability or special need.

I think you've taken the term as an umbrella term for anyone who has mental disabilities/imparements. :dontknow:

I've recently found out my younger brother is autistic. From being born two weeks premeture, there has been a catalogue of errors from the professionals involved in his treatments. From failing to spot his jaundice, to failing to address an iron deficiency, to prescribing medication that lead to ill health after an allergic reaction (he was seen after the swelling and poor health arose, it was dismissed and it was advised that the treatment should continue), to finally dismissing clear signs of autism as a simple delay in language development. And that's just the hospital staff, those who deal with special needs are beyond difficult when it comes to trying to actually get him assessed. He's very much into a routine at the pre-school he attends, we is good for him, but they also like to f**k up... alot! After the speech therapists agreed that he would benefit from more visual aids than the other children, the f**kwits at the pre-school didn't take this on board until several months after. They're also fully aware that he can only repeat things that are said to him (although almost always in context), he can't construct his own sentences... so basically he can't say "mummy, I hurt myself today" or "mummy, a boy hit me today"... alternatively he can say "oohhhh, sammy's head okay" (something that was said to him after he fell and hit his head) and "do you want a smack... do you want another one?" (something that another lovely four year old said to him). This is where my mother has to get information on what may or may not have happened to her son at pre-school.

.... so yea, I could quite easily lose the f**king plot any moment now and kill anyone and everyone who has ever worked at Lewisham Hospital South East London, or those so-called f**king specialists that seem to be doing their very best to f**k up my little brother's life before it's even f**king started. And I'm capable of some sick f**ked up inhumane things, all in the name of retribution!

Basically I'm touchy on autism and cruelty to children, naturally. And something was said a few pages back that nearly made me switch, but from what I've read (again, just skimmings), I don't see Elk's views as an attack on mental dissabilities or mental illness.
