Obama doesn't really give a flying f**k about getting behind fairies, he just wants the gays behind him, seeing as everyone else is abandoning his ship.

But at the same time, they're not going to support him any more than they already do... because he ended his statement with "but it's up to the states to do what they want".

So he more or less said, I think you should be able to marry, but I'm not going to help your cause.

Dick Morris had a good assessment of this whole thing, he hurt himself with those who are anti gay marriage (60%), and didn't help himself with the gay community because he's not going to do anything anyhow and he already had their support because Romney is clearly against them. The black community is very anti gay marriage, but will probably vote for him anyhow because of his race (98% did in '08) and the latin community is also very anti gay marriage.

So what's the point in saying this, it only hurts him...

The is nothing more than an attempt to get more support because everyone is actually looking at what he has done with his four years. People have seen past the brainwashing "yes we can" chants, the cool persona and now he is in trouble.
