Goose wrote:I have a solution that has worked for years.

I never pay my BT, gas and electric bills, I run them up until they threaten to cut off the service then I get my girlfriend to call up and say she has just moved in and the last tenant has gone, then we keep swapping and use different name or move house.

I aint paid one of those bills for the last 4-5 years, lol

:dizzy: Doesn't UK has a social security number thing to track people?

We have National Insurance Numbers, but for companies like Bt, gas, electric etc they don't take it.

You cannot get the gas/electricity even internet connection without the SSN # here.
Moral of the story - Goose, don't ever think of moving to the US.

Funny enough, I said that my girlfriend a few hours ago, we would be screwed in the US as they would track as down.

My motto is "keep on moving" lol

The bills are mounting up at my current place, time to look for somewhere else to live, lol

£600 mortgage
£140 Council Tax
£45 Water
£40 Gas (until winter comes)

£15 tv licence

£880 a month, before shopping and other bills. Shopping comes to £100 a week, so thats another £400 a month onto £880 = £1280 just on the basic bills a month......

i know are money value is different over here but 600 sounds great for a mortgage i pay 650 just rent a shitty little 1 bedroom apartment...

600 Canadian dollars = 357.008666 British pounds

£350 sounds about right for a one bed apartment.

I only pay about £260 a month for this dump, but it is a council house, so by far the cheapest option.

My unemployed mate thought i was joking when i said i didn't earn enough. When i told him how much i got to pay out he laughed and said how can you spend that much. i said because i work i have to pay full rent and ctax not like him who gets housing and ctax benefits. He pissed me off a bit, he's been to uni and still can't get a job and then laughing at how much money i have to pay out every month.

It was about 5 weeks before they actually paid me any money, a total joke really considering there are seven mouths to feed in the house, rent, council tax etc all to pay.

I think you mean Coors. And to me both are shit. But Bud Light is made here in St. Louis, so I'd have to go with that.

Here are my numbers in Tucson Arizona

Rent = $1175
Summer Electric Bill = $287
Water/sewer/trash = $187 (I live in the desert)
Satellite/Phone/Internet = $200 (I make a tonne of international calls to relatives)
Mobile Phones = $165
Vehicle Insurance = $175

The upshot = my medical is free as I am a 100% combat disabled veteran....bought my cars with cash...I'm exempt from taxes. This saves me an additional $1000 plus.

I still outlay $ 2189 in basic bills
$3189 had I not served in the military.
