What should be done about Afghanistan?

Postby gzagee » Mon Sep 21, 2009 9:41 pm

I don't see the coalition forces ever bringing democracy to that region. I know they won't (yet, at least) pull out of there cos they don't want to lose face but, their efforts aren't really making that much of a difference.
Apparently there was vote rigging at the Afghan elections and the Taliban are getting stronger all the while.
The place has never been conquered throughout centuries of invasions, do what's the chances of it changing now?
Now there's talk of deploying more troops. Waste of time if you ask me.

What's your thoughts?

Might as well pull out and admit failure, they are not fighting soldiers but regular people who are against the West, the more they are there the more the West becomes hated.

If they hadn't been given weapons to fight the russians and then just deserted in the first place; we wouldn't be in this situation.

Watch the movie Charlie Wilson War. He supplied them with arms. he got 200 million dollars for arms but not 1 million to build schools or hospitals.

As IMF said, it's the Americans' fault.

Am from Kuwait.. so am from the so called war zone.. The main aim is not to bring peace and democracy to Afganistan, plus who told them that they want it!! Most of the Afgans r Talibans.. They want this kind of life..
Going back.. The main aim is to surround Iran.. It started with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.. Then not taking Saddam out coz they wanted to cement their place in the region to both surround Iran and the oil of course.. Then after they had all the troops in the region they decided its time for Iraq.. and how easy it was!! Very easy wasn't it!!
The bottom line its modern time colonialism.. They know that as soon as peace is in the region they will be kicked out.. Same like what Iraqis r demanding although peace is not 100 per cent secured but as soon as it is they will be demanded to leave..
