Gervinho wants Gunners move

Postby Trina » Mon Aug 25, 2008 6:52 am

Le Mans starlet Gervinho has reiterated his desire to secure a transfer to Arsenal.

The Ivory Coast international declared earlier in the summer that Arsenal were keen to sign him.

The Gunners' interest appears to have cooled but Gervinho feels a move could still go ahead in the future if he keeps improving.

The 21-year-old striker admits he has always longed to play for Arsenal and he is determined to catch the eye of Arsene Wenger.

"It will depend on my good work at Le Mans," Gervinho told skysports.com.
Freedom

"I need to keep working and Arsenal will open the door for me.

"I have dreamed about that club. To play for Arsenal will be the best day of my life and I will do anything to play for that team."

Asked why Arsenal were his dream club, Gervinho replied: "It is their game, the freedom the manager give them to express their qualities.

"They are all young players and out of all the top European clubs they are the only ones who work like this. I really love that."

I think that Arsenal would rather wanna buy a DM like M.Veloso who could actually take Flamini's place unlike who we already have which is Diaby!!!!

I think our strike force is set for years to come. But always good to know players out there that would love to play for us.
Favorite Players: ROBIN VAN PERSIE & NASRI

Ideally you would prefer that everybody in the world always loves everybody, but it doesn’t always happen.(Arsene Wenger)

Gervinho rejects new Lille contract to put Tottenham and Arsenal on alert

Arsenal and Tottenham have been put on red alert after reports in France claim coveted striker Gervinho has rejected a new deal at Lille.

Magazine France Football claims the player's agent has announced the Ivorian will not be signing a contract extension with the Ligue 1 side after an offer was tabled last month.

The French club have now slapped a £10.5m price tag on Gervinho and will look to push through any move this summer in order to avoid losing him for free next year when his deal expires.

Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp are both rumoured to be interested in the player, who has scored 25 goals in 54 appearances for Lille, while German giants Bayern Munich are also said to be looking at the 23-year-old.

He's a good player.
He didn't even cross my mind before. I've seen him play for Ivory Coast and imo he's probably their best striker, after Drogba

Their best striker after Drogba? That's like saying Bent's England's best striker after Rooney... get him!

I haven't really seen much of him, but looking back at the first post, f**k it, we should buy him just because we are to him what Barca are to nearly every top player that puts on an Arsenal shirt!!!

I think its very important that we have players who would give everything for the club. He really is a good player tbh though

Ever see Gervinho's hair? when you see his braids there's a giant gap in the middle thats absolutely smooth and hairless. I can't watch him play without get entranced by the effed up hair gap.

He puts his head down before he shoots and leaves the keepers entrances!
