It was not a sitter by any means it was a very well taken volley with the outside of the boot from a tight angle into the top corner. I would never in a million years have put money on Gervinho scoring from that position

Great goal.

Having posted that depressing statement above, what if he's a fabianski type confidence player? What if he comes back really positive after scoring that goal, just as he came back really negative after missing that Pen last year?

At little something for the last few optimist arsenal fans to hold onto.

Sorry but Gervinho is a lost cause as far as I am concerned, he truly is an appalling footballer, he definitely is not Arsenal standard.

Can he cross? Not very well. Can he pass? He can, but it is very laboured and slow. Can he shoot? No. Can he finish? Not very well and a few good goals here and there won't change my opinion. He isn't anywhere near as consistent. Does he have good technical ability? No. Does he have good technique? No. Is he strong? No. Is he greedy even though he doesn't have the ability to back up his greediness? Yes. Does he constantly make the wrong decisions in the final third? Yes.

We paid £8m for him and he gets £60k p/w. Ridiculous. He is a very poor player and has very few redeeming qualities. The bad characteristics far outweigh the good characteristics he has.

Wenger needs to learn how to use gervinho.

1. Stop f***ing playing him on the left!

2. Stop f***ing playing him upfront

3. Give him clear, simple direct instructs to be direct, it's like you don't explain to him what he needs to do, he looks confused every single time he plays, for Ivory coast and Lille he is given a simple plan.

Gervinho has been great for Ivory Coast, thats because he's given basic instructions at least. What is Wenger telling him to do?

Gervinho if he leaves, which I would not want would worry me, hwe will go to a team that will give him, again, basic instructions and he will f**k ass!

No it didn't. Credit where credit's due, it was a very well taken finish that required good technique.

I don't see how anyone can think Gervinho is a good player. He's laughably poor.
