Frimpong undergoes knee surgery

Frimpong undergoes knee surgery

Postby Trina » Fri May 24, 2013 9:11 am

Emmanuel Frimpong underwent surgery to his right knee on Wednesday night following an injury sustained in Fulham’s Premier League match at Swansea City on Sunday.

The 21-year-old Ghanaian international, who appeared twice for the Arsenal first team this season - in the Capital One Cup victories over Coventry City and Reading - had been on loan with Fulham since January, following a six-week loan spell at Championship side Charlton Athletic.

Frimpong will now begin his rehabilitation and is expected to return to training in around two months’ time.

We wish Manny the best of luck in his recovery.

Didn't know he was having another operation. That's probably the final nail in the coffin then, I'd be very surprised if he made it here.

He well get another chance, two months and pre season will start again anyway. Pretty sure he'll be involved in the pre season friendlys and Emirates cup, if he doesn't impress then it's probably time he finds somewhere else.

Can't see he coming back from this. Too early to write him off as a top player of course, but he keeps missing his window at Arsenal and I doubt he'll get another chance.

He's only 21. As long as his injuries don't affect him long term, I still think he has a chance with us. I love his passion, perhaps needs to tone down sometimes, but I do like him.

No but apparently his future with the club will be discussed in the coming days.

I really like the lad but just don't think he's good enough

13th of May 2012 Arsenal beat West Brom 3-2 to finish 3rd ahead of Newcastle. Gooney is still yet to leave the forum...

I like him, he's a true gooner and unlike Coquelin, I don't think he will give troubles sitting on the bench waiting for his chance. I think Wenger should sell one of the two or at least give one of them a loan spell at a PL side.

I'm sure I saw pics of Frimps training today. Anyone know when he's going to be match fit?
