Emmanuel Frimpong has made the Twitter news again for making silly comments on his mobile phone. The young Ghanaian player has been working his way back to fitness after a couple of bad injuries and it looks, from the tweet, like he’d been expecting a call up to the Arsenal squad tomorrow. As he subsequently didn’t get what he wanted, he went on Twitter, and made a comment that could be interpreted to be about race, Responding to a fan who asked him if he would be in the squad on Tuesday night, Frimpoing replied: ‘LOL I wanna laugh’ A minute later he posted another tweet which said: ‘Sometimes I wish I was white and English #realtalk’ He later deleted those two tweets before adding: ‘Not everything is football related Goosh’.

His tweets are the petulant noises of a kid who doesn’t understand the power of his words. Some tell me this is a mainstream rap lyric, I’m not so sure that’s an excuse I’d buy. It might be a lyric, but the hashtag at the end suggests he’s upset about something and the preceding tweets are about him not making the Arsenal squad. One thing you can never accuse Arsene Wenger of is looking at white English players and giving them an easy ride into the squad. He’s as fair as they come. If you’re good enough, you make it, regardless of age, colour, religion or even boot colour preference. Wenger holds no bias. Frimpong doesn’t make the squad because he’s not good enough and he doesn’t have the right attitude. He’s more concerned with his Twitter account and his sideline projects than he is in making a difference at the club. He’s once again let himself let him down with his bad social media skills and he’s put another cross against his CV. A shame, he used to be a fan favourite now he seems to be doing all he can to sully his name and get himself sold. Bad form Frimmy, bad form.

Maybe he just wishes he was white and english?

Firstly I didn't say he's lost his way mainly because of 'Dench' and the fact you've said all you know is that he's an immature kid shows you haven't really got good ground to stand on putting forward 'assumptions' yourself You can have good work rate but be lost mentally therefore standing still. And before you put a whitecoat on I meant mentally lost progressing in football!

Frimpongs an idiot. Even if he wasn't going to go on to become world class he could have become a local hero, a proper squad player.

That's all fair and well but he's putting his cards on the table when using Twitter and what people are reading makes him look like someone who's mentality is one of a tantrum induced child who hasn't got the savvy to focus and do his talking on the training ground ....... assumption or not its the impression he's giving off that people are judging.

I mean take his latest comment for example, how are we supposed to take that seriously when Sagna is keeping Jenks on the bench, so on and so on.

He's then trying to cover that by saying the comment isn't necessarily about football ........... quite frankly, who gives a fk!

This is pure example of why I hate twitter, the guy should take a leaf out of Ramsey's or Gnarby's book, get your fkin head down, train hard and show the boss you can be useful to the team and help get results.

Hey - I don't disagree that he's immature and does stupid stuff on twitter - I just don't use that to judge how hard he trains because I don't have a clue about how hard he trains and how seriously he takes his work - like most of the rest of you probably. Plenty of jokers still knuckle down when it comes to doing their job so it's perfectly plausible he's doing everything on the training ground to get into the team but simply isn't good enough, I don't know.

As for him saying the tweet wasn't about football - that didn't look good but at the end of the day I don't really know because I can't read minds.

People pay way too much attention to players off the field, and let it influence their opinion of them WAY more than they ever should.

Frimpong would just be your average 20 something in London if he couldn't play football. The only reason anybody pays any attention to him at all is because of his employer. I couldn't care less about their lives off the field. They're just average Joes like the rest of us apart from their footballing ability and pay packets. They're not smarter, they don't know more about world politics... same goes for all celebrities.

I've never been one to idol worship, at least not since I turned 10 or so...
