We have games to play before then. We shouldnt even be thinking about Barcelona. I hope the players arent, the last thing I would want is for players to pull out of tackles and not give 100% cause they dont want to get injured for Barcelona.

Barcelona is a glamour tie not the most important game in my opinion.

hear hear.
the most important game is always your next 1

Of course, that's the right philosophy to have. Taking it one game at a time as they say. BUT... anyone with a pulse has one eye on the Barca gane and is praying that Nasri, Song and Theo will be back in time, I can't stress how important these players are!!! We don't want another repeat of last year, 5th and 6th choice CB's, no recognised DM (in a DM position), first choice striker out, a captain with a broken leg, keeper issues!... at some point we're due some major luck against that shitty Catalan club!

Best case scenario seems to be Theo and Song back in time, Nasri missing the first tie but being back for the away leg, and maybe even Vermaelen back at some point... let's not think about the worst case scenario!!!

So my brother tells me that our squad that played last night... cost Arsenal less than Chelsea paid for Torres. :rofll:

Went to the game. Possibly the worst performance from a ref of all time. Delighted with the win. Hope Cesc did abuse the ref at half time cos the t**t deserved all that was said to him and despite his best efforts, we ran out winners

Not me. I dont even care about that game to be honest. We are not likely or expected to win that game. If we win it would be a bonus but im resigned to the fact we will lose.

For me the more realistic targets are the domestic competitions.

According to who?

Rosicky - £7m
Koscielny - £10m
Van Persie - £3m
Arshavin - £17m
Walcott - £5m
Sagna - £7m
Diaby - £2m

And all the odds and sods in between, such as £1m here for Ches, or Almunia...Eboue probably cost a couple of mill as well.

Our squad that played last night probably cost closer to £60m if not more.

Might be being pedantic but still...

£5m up front rising to £12m wasn't it?

I put £5m as it was an up front figure, we won't know if those other bonuses were ever paid.

I think when he said squad he might have meant first XI. The 11 players that beat Chelsea cost between £40 million and £45 million, depending on who your sources are.

to pay 10m für kossy who "only" played in league 1...madness if you think about it. I don't say he's not worth it but at that time...

Stopped at about 8/9 million because Southampton were in financial trouble, so were willing to settle (for a quick cash deposit, I assume).
