Winning the cup could be a springboard to the premiership title. We need to experience winning!

And again, no-one's saying "yay, we could win the CARLING CUP"... they're basically saying "yay, we could win this and use the success to push on and win a real cup!"

Plastic fans for you.... ;)

Lol, how did you figure that one out?

I have an issue with the cup, that's all. I look at our team and I see a team that's capable of winning bigger and better things. I only began to have an issue with the cup when Wenger played our kids in the competition. I still went nuts for every goal, still followed them to the final against Chelski and was by far the loudest in a Chelski dominated pub! I still want to win it as I want Arsenal to win EVERY game including pointless pre-season friendlies. BUT... it'll never be a cup I particularly boast about if we won.

If we won it with our kids it would be a great achievment, but it's not worthy of a first team considering how conjested fixture lists have become.

You know im joking, i feel we've got the squad to compete in this and bit of luck with results so why not go for it, as M said:

ITS A F**KIN TROPHY

I would love to win the CC, although winning it will only force the press to once again focus on our failings.

I agree.

I always used to take the piss but i would love to win it now, all the big teams have gone for it before now so why shouldn't we?

The feeling our players will get holding that trophy aloft will be a massive taste of victory, don't look at the trophy as an Elite piece of Silverware because it isn't, instead look at as the boost we need to get ourselves back in the big time.

It would also shut up just about everyone, it is still considered a major trophy albeit the weaker of the 4 and competition has stepped up, winning it will still be hard.

I just hope Cham, Fab, Al, Vermy etc all get a few minutes so they get a medal, unsure how it works nowadays.

League Cup ridicule rules:

IF you've been neck deep in trophies you can scoff at the Mickey Mouse cup.

IF you havent won anything for 5 years? Beggars cant be choosers.

It probably wont be enough to change Cesc's mind about leaving (yesterday's schooling of Real by Farcalona wont have helped either!) but it'll prove something to the players that will be there after he's left. Silverware can be won if you fight till the end.

Hate to draw comparisons with the scum, but look at the confidence boost it gave to our inbred neighbours...

Beggars cannot be choosers. We need to win a trophy and the CC would be a start.

If we win this it takes a bit of pressure off of us although i agree the CC in itself is not enough but its still better than no trophy which has been the case for 5 years now.

Saying that I think our toughest test will be the semi. I can see us slip up against any of the teams that are left in the competition. We come through the semi and I believe we will win against whoever we get in the final.

Just finished watching the game, disappointed with Theo, he still looks really rusty. Miles away from the form he showed before his injury.
If he's this rusty he needs games and should be playing in the reserves just to get game time, anything to help.

Moan for the day:
Why the f**k did we risk bringing Nasri on? It's not as though he's struggling for match fitness.
Why the f**k did we bring JET on with 8 minutes to go so that he could have two touches as a lone striker up front? Totally f***ing pointless. :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust:

Glad to get through though and Manure were totally humiliated again.

I dont understand the JET situation either.

Vela was shit today. What the f**k is wrong with Vela? Whenever he got the ball in promising positions he just lost his footing. We would have been out of sight if Vela was putting his chances away. Ok myabe I am being a bit harsh, he wasnt really shit apart from in his finishing.

I really think JET should have got more time maybe not today but definately in some of the previous games.
