And the rest of the 30,000+ of us from that era at Highbury?
Nope, we're just priced out of the market to ensure that we don't have fun at the new concrete bowl. It wouldn't do to enjoy yourself at Ashburton Grove.... 60,000 actually enjoying themselves at the expense of the chief of all things crap at Arsenal these days ain't going to happen. Quite what she does to have so much pull is beyond me, but she makes Mary Whitehouse look like a timid little mouse.
My Arsenal is my Arsenal, not the crap being presented to me these days, if I wanted that, I'd have a season ticket at lawn bowls.
Yes, I'll support Arsenal through thick and thin, and you're old enough to remember when it was utterly dire, but I ain't bothering with the lifeless bowl until they actually sit up and take notice, and do something about it.
As for the Newcastle game, I could fart louder than the noise the crowd were making, it was utterly embarrassing, but it's been like that since the day they ripped the terraces down at Highbury.
I've said it time and again, Arsenal and the other big clubs want to make a move to revoke the all seaters, get the terraces back, get the fans back and get the atmosphere back. Then we can have the fans inspiring the team, rather than the team inspiring the fans for a whopping two minutes of "oo are ya"
What I don't understand about all that though, is last season at the Spuds game, the Emirates was absolutely f***ing electric!
Is that because our fans just turn it on for the big games or is it because the 'real' fans that can't afford season tickets tend to beg, borrow or steal just so that they can get to the Spuds/Manure games?
If we can rock the place for one game why not the rest?
