He deserves to start now after that, lets see where he goes.

GunnGunn, maybe you can photoshop the expression in your avatar after every game he has to match his performance, kind of like a fab-ometer.

I could do that...

I actually wonder if he has a blinder against Chelsea, if AW will do to Almunia what he did to Lehmann

Two good games after all he's done wrong and you're going to just forget it all and put our season's hopes on his shoulders?

No thanks, I'll pass. Going to take more to convince me.

We are not saying its right, but AW did it to Lehmann, and he was actually a class GK...

I think Fabianski has more ability than Almunia and i always have, Almunia is more assured...

Maybe if he did displace Al, it would give him the confidence needed?

And any GK who turns up for us against Chelsea of all teams goes a long way to convinving me, lets hope he does.

Ability... maybe. I don't see that much between them in that category.

Brains, positioning, command and confidence goes to Almunia by a country mile.

The added confidence would certainly help Flappy, but that's just one of the many holes he has in his game right now. He is seriously timid out there. He never charges out for a cross. Never... and I find that very troubling.

Wenger is completely clueless when it comes to selecting keepers, so I wouldn't be shocked if he did push Almunia out. But Fabianski will not be much better. Probably worse, because we've seen how he copes with failure last year. And as soon as he makes an error... it will be like humpty dumpty fell off the wall.

Hand on heart mean this when I say it. I don't have any personal hatred or anything for our keepers. I have no reason to dislike any of them. I just don't believe any of them are good enough to win us anything. The best we can hope to get out of any of them is not to cost us points, but their play isn't going to earn us any. And I don't see any of our current crop getting to the point where they will save us points anytime in the next few years. Almunia is at his best, Fabianski is almost to his peak and far from being a point earner and the other two are each at least 5 years off.

The thing is when you have made the amount of mistakes he has you have to go nuts when he pulls off something great. It is like when you try and get your child to take their first steps, they may fall over and get it all wrong for ages, but when they finally do it, even though walking is a standard thing, everyone in the room acts like it is the greatest thing they have ever seen :)

Anyway it looks like it is between them 2 in Wenger's mind so it really has to be a earn your next game attitude and he has earnt it.

Okay, my views today after being out with Arsenal fans.

You were shit for 15mins and deserved to be 3-0 down. By half time, you deserved your lead. You took the lead against the run of play, then they equalised against the run of play. Was a really weird first half.

Fully deserved the win in the end though.

GunnGunn didnt you say the other day mannone should be number 2 behind almunia?

Now you want Fabianski to be number 1???

Anyway, he had a good game but in totall fairness he had hardly anything to do all game. He had to make a few saves when we were 3-1 up against 10 men and were comfortably going to win.
