At least with Squillaci, he's 5th choice. Chamakh on the other hand is our only striker on the bench. Both will be on similarly high wages though. Spend efficiency, hoo rah

We are stuck with him.

Vermaelen>Koscielny>Mertesacker>Djourou>Miquel>Squillaci

I honestly dont think we will ever see him play for the first team ever again. Even in the league cup he would probably only make the bench...if that (given the fact he has zero match fitness since he hasn't played 90 minutes since the first kick-about under modern rules in 1848 on Parker's Piece, Cambridge).

Had we sold Squillaci and Chamakh could we have afforded the wages of greedy c*nt Robin Van Persie?

No, 99% sure he'd still be off.

Yes, as much as they try to make it sound/look like his decision was something last-minute, if you look back at last season it just becomes more and more blatant that it wasn't the case.

At least we got to enjoy the ride. Had we known last season it wouldn't have been as sweet scoring all those late goals etc.

Drogba? Pah.

a french league cup winner
twice french league winner
a french cup winner
a spanish cup winner
a champions league finalist
he had faced drogba 4 times in the french league without him scoring a goal[in fact squillaci scored for monaco in a 2-1 win in marseille in 03/04.
and a clean sheet for france v ivory coast
he was a punt on an experienced defender
the gamble may have failed but i can see every reason why it was taken

Refusing to go or no where to go?

Both :dontknow:

I'm sure he could find a club in the top half of Ligue 1, he'd just have to take a pay cut, which he doesn't seem eager to do
