It's scary how much some of these players have won.

E.g. Iniesta: European cup x 2, World cup, CL x 3, 4? La Liga x 4, 5? Copa del Rey x 5? Etc. etc.

one cup listed was actually with us, RVP with the FA cup and correct me if I'm wrong(could well be) but I don't think he was brought off the bench.

I know it was a stupid point but you get my drift...

No.

If they lose the shootout against Italy in the WC, or to Portugal this year they're not even an after thought in the pages of history.

They have won plenty, but been far from dominate in most of it. Did they even score more than one goal in 3 of their WC and Euro 2012 wins?

The whole "best ever" every time something good comes along really get on my tits.

Yeah it is remarkable. But how many times have other teams been 1 penalty away from the same, while cruising by everybody?

Just because they're the best right now doesn't make them the best ever.

Just like Juventus this year isn't the best Serie A team ever just because they were unbeaten.

There have been better international teams over the course of 6 years that haven't won 3 trophies. Because while Spain has won, they haven't always been the best team in the tournament overall. They certainly weren't in this tournament.

If there were better international teams, they would have won at least one of the 3 trophies. Winning 3 in a row takes some major desire, hunger and a group of outrageously talented players. That's what Spain has right now and that's what places them amongst the very best IMO.

No way of knowing that, because teams in the past could have been, and probably were, playing against tougher opposition.

Like GG said in the other thread, it's Messi pt.2.

One of the top few, sure. But I don't think I would even put them in the top 5 of my 31 years on this planet.

Totally forgot about a yes/no coupon I had put on at the start of the Euros and won it

- Holland NOT to reach past the semis
- NO red cards in the smeis/final
- Less that 75 goals scored, (there was like 73 scored)
- England to go further than Ukraine
- Ireland to finish on less than 2 points
- Spain to win the Euros

Was only a daft wee £1 bet, but still an unexpected £34

At least Spain played well in the final to actually earn this trophy. They didn't set the world alight this summer but it was an improvement on the world cup, which was f***ing appalling

Feel a bit for Italy, they just didn't have the legs in the end and playing most of the second half with 10 men means the scoreline was very flattering to Spain.
