Harsh to be so close. Another match 1 winner who fails to go through. That chance they had in the second half will be rued.

Better effort by Ireland. I would have preferred Croatia to have gone through.
I want Carl Jenkinson back in a Arsenal shirt next season.

Croatia are a good side, feel a bit sorry for them to go out like that. They could have scored 3 goals last night. Wish they had at least got a draw as it's more likely we'll come second in our group than first... thus having to play Spain.

He's a good manager I rate him big time, surprised he hasn't had an offer from a top half PL club. Or rather if he did, surprised he didn't take it.

Hes probably more invested in his country's fortunes than a top club. I think they have a different philosophy over there re club v country whereas over here, im sure its the other way round for the majority of English players.

I get the feeling that half of them literally have just gone through the motions in recent years.

Yeah but Z he's just signed for Lokomotiv so if you're gonna leave international management for club, you'd go to the best job on offer surely.

He may realise he has a lot to learn so instead of throwing himself in to the deep end he might feel he is better to learn a little on the way.

Fair reasoning  I guess in management there's no real rush unlike in their playing days.
