Bit of an overreaction.

He was at fault for the goal and then he got himself sent off, pretty nightmare stuff at this level in your own back yard. The penalty save slightly vindicates him but that wasn't set in stone.

As a keeper, he was put in an absolutely horrible situation. Where was his defense? You can't blame him for making contact with the player. And suggesting to let him score? Are you insane?

I didn't see Rev saying he should have let him score. You cannot in any way defend chesney. He was called on twice and twice he made an arse of things. The man had a mare.

Once he lost the battle to the ball and the striker was gone it was either let him go on to score or take him down, get your team down to 10 men and they get a penalty (which is more often than not scored). I think he should have let him tap it in rather than get sent off because they can always come back with 11 men against 10. It is the same thing with Lehmann in the CL final, he should have just let Eto'o score.

Of course the penalty being saved makes it look like a better decision but that was a big risk to take. He should have not made the challenge, in my opinion anyway.

I agree Texas that the defence were absent but the fault overwhelmingly lies on Szczesny and I do blame him for making contact as the trip was hardly an accident.

I don't mean to be harsh on him as I am fond of Szczesny but I can't help but think he has flopped big time here.

Chez bringing his league form into the euro's. Didn't make a save, cocked up massively for Greece's goal and then got himself sent off. That might be the first and last game he plays at a major tournament

Still an exciting way to kick things off.
