I'll go as far as to say that he's been England's ONLY consistent midfielder in the last 3/4 years.

Johnson plays better on the right, cutting in on his left foot.

Maybe but hes our only realistic option on the left.

He already plays there for the U21s but Capello doesn't have the balls to put a player of that age there.

Not read the whole thread but Im glad he has it back. Should never of lost it in the first place, especially to Rio! Terry slept with his mates missus so give it to someone who didn't turn up for a drugs test. Was a joke.

Terry was wrong for what he did, but it shouldn't have affected his role. If you sleep with a workmates bird do you get demoted? Nope.

Anyway, I just hope now its made permanent we can start re-building the England squad. We do have some brilliant English talent. But they need to get it together and perform as a team.

When was the last time anyone's seen this? The Theo hat-trick against Croatia was a great game, I'm struggling to think of another time where we haven't just dominated, but also looked fluid and like a team (because against the smaller nations we can dominate without looking impressive).

One that stands out was our 3-2 win over Argentina under Sven. Long time back now but that was a massive performance, we were always the better team despite what the scoreline suggests. And it's never a friendly against such opponents.

Why have a LAM?

I would have a formation that doesn't involve Milner, if I had to build a team around not having James Milner in it, I would do it. He is mediocrity personified, he's a more athletic Michael Carrick.

England have a lot of talent coming through they shouldn't be too worried:

Smalling
Rodwell
Wilshere
McEachran
Cleverley
Sturridge
Welbeck
Carroll

Obviously I know more about the United youngsters than the others so excuse me if I sound biased, but they're all quality prospects. England will be fine.
