Fifa has suspended executive committee members Amos Adamu and Reynald Temarii following allegations of corruption over World Cup votes.
World football's governing body announced that Adamu would be be banned form football-related activity for three years and Temarii for one year following an investigation.
The pair were implicated in a Sunday Times investigation which accused the duo of accepting money in return for their votes in the bidding for the World Cup, with reporters from the newspaper posing as representatives of the United States' 2022 World Cup bid.
Appeal
Adamu has already indicated his intention to appeal against the verdict
delivered by the chairman of Fifa's ethics committee, Claudio Sulser.
Adamu was fined 10,000 Swiss francs (£6,341) and Temarii 5,000 Swiss francs (£3,170) as part of the sanction against them - but both were cleared of corruption.
It also means neither will be able to cast their votes ahead of the secret ballot to decide the World Cup hosts of 2018 and 2022, which takes place in Zurich on December 2nd.
The decision will now be taken by the remaining 22 members of the executive committee.
No evidence
The ethics committee also investigated the reported collusion between the bids of Spain-Portugal for 2018 and Qatar for 2022.
Their report indicated there was no evidence to suggest any deal had been struck between the two bidding teams, who it was claimed were colluding in order to trade votes.
