I wouldn't call him hard working, I often see him casually jogging when closing people down

he did nothing playing with Cesc also, the man couldnt score in a whore house

Chamakh was a lot more influential in games when Cesc was playing easily! He was growing on me and becoming one of my favourites until Cesc got his hamstring injury and everything seemed to dry up.

I think he wasn't playing that well at the beginning of last year really...
with a lot of the goals he scored, the ball just seemed to hit him and go in

when the knives are out they are really out
just hit him?
do behave.
go and have a look at the 2 he got at wolves for starters

I've thought the same thing the whole time he's been playing for us
not one of his goals is quality, they are all tap ins or ones that he has lucked himself into
even the headers (which is his only real quality) aren't difficult

Im not sure about that mate, if headed goals were about getting lucky, all forwards would have the similar heading rate? Depending on their luck of course. Chamakh got all of those headed goals because he was fighting to get into good positions to receive crosses on his head. Hence why theo Walcott will probably get 3 headed goals in his career! How many has hE got with his head btw. Walcott, not chamakh....

most of Chamkh's headers were pretty simple, he was unmarked for a lot of them

He made the space to become unmarked. I never get why some will complain about us not having players in the box with all our wing play and crossing, yet can't appreciate what chamakh was doing prior to his complete loss of form.

Heading a ball well is an art form in itself, it's a combination of determination, strength, timing and movement that dome players just won't have. Someone like tim Cahill should nit have the heading record that he does looking at his stature, but he does it because he's able to lose his marker and time his runs perfectly to get into danger zones to meet that header.

Chamakh used to be able to do that, it was his main asset, but unlike a lot of other forwards in our team, once he lost the ability to do it, there wasn't much else in his game to paper over the cracks.

If it's as simple as being in the box, how come the rest of our forwards aren't racking up headed goals?

We'll agree to disagree, I'm 99% certain that if we stuck theo Walcott/gervinho/park on the pen spot, non of those players would get the Headed goal returns that chamakh got when he was playing well.

well, no (although maybe with Park, he is good in the air), but Theo and Gervinho are rubbish headers of the ball, so they're not really hard to beat

We have no need for this premiership flop at the moment with Park here. On top of that, Vela will return from loan after this season and I prefer him over Chamakh any day, he is 5 years younger for crying out loud.

oh well, agree to differ then mate,i thought his 2 at wolves were quality strikers goals and he can luck himself into that situation all day for me

having refamiliairised myself with chamakhs goals for us i will not agree to differ
i will say you are downright wrong
whilst acknowledging the fact that chamakhs goal return since the turn of the year is dire
the casual damning of a player at our club is unhelpful and unfair
i can see not 1 goal where the ball has just hit him
blackpool [h]
bends his head round an rvp corner to score from between penalty spot and 6 yard box
bolton[h] bends his head back to nod in a fabregas cross
braga[h]
takes a backheel from wilshere and strokes it into the net
partizan belgrade[a]
heads a rosicky cross onto the bar and reacts quickest to score rebound
birmingham[h]
sent thru by wilshere ghosts past keeper to score
shakter[h]
takes a ball from nasri dinks it over the keeper
wolves[a]
powers in a song cross and in injury time scores after cesc tees him up
spurs[h] reacts quickest to bundle in an arshavin cross
villa[a] scores after being played in by rosicky
orient[h]

blackburn[a] cross from rvp chamakh outjumps 2 defenders to score
if a player who holds the record for scoring in the most consecutive champions league games
[he scored in 6] needs he,s own fans to get behind him is,nt that what we should be doing?
have an opinion but please don,t play fast and loose with the facts
chamakh is 1 of ours, thinking that should not be the case is 1 thing but knocking what he has done well is quite another

the fact you can sumerise every goal he has scored on one page in sentence shows how great chmak is,a striker that can not score is a luxury we can not affored when our main striker has the injury record he has.no player should be above criticism he is played to score ,when he plays we cheer for him like anyother Arsenal player but never ask me to put my head in the sand and pretend players are acheiving when they are clearly not.
