Chamakh was throw in at the deep end and we all marvelled at how he coped so well. Now it's caught up with him. Also by March I take him to mean that's when he'll be 100%. Not exactly a bad thing

We've seen others come here from the French league, they've said the league is physically harder and quicker than their own but I can't remember too many saying they're already burnt out by December?

No others that I remember played as much as him in his first 3 or 4 months. He played practically every game due to RVP's and Bendther's injuries.

Pires, Henry, Wiltord may all have struggled with the pace and physicality (which is what I'd already alluded to) but none were burnt out by Xmas of their first season.
As others have opined there has to be mitigating circumstances. Because if not, it's a poor showing. Haven't seen Kossie or Squillie complain about burnout. :dontknow:

And to add, it wouldn't surprise me if Wiltord, Henry & Pires had all played alot more footy in the summer prior to their arriving at Highbury.
In fact Wiki says both Wiltord and Pires had arrived in summer of 2000, so they'd've played Euro 2000 for France.
Only Henry came in 1999, so he may have had a free summer.

Sorry, not impressed. :snooty:

Chamaaaaaaaaaaakh happy with start

I think there's a lot more to come from Chamakh. He's showed a lot of potential and although he lost his place when RVP returned I still think he could be the target man we have needed or someone for RVP to play off in a 4-4-2.

Don't forget how cr@p Drogba was in his first EPL season!

He has the potential to be that sort of player. But recently it seems like the guys gets scared when he gets in and around the penalty area :dontknow:

..of course there's a lot more to come yet. It's only various areas of the Arse hating meedjah who claim he's not good enough for the prem. Probably the most underrated of youngsters. Chamakh will show 'em next season. :goal1:

The fact he's not been preferred to Bendy after starting the season so well worries me.
He has no effect on the outcome of matches these days, when he's brought on. It's almost as if we're operating one striker short.
I certainly hope he sorts out whatever it is that's troubling him in the summer. We need the same impact he made on a far more consistent basis next season.

Well, to be fair Gza, AW probably doesn't see Chamakh as a winger, even though he played in a similar position for large spells with Bordeaux...

AW is persisting with Bendtner on the wing for one reason, and thats to increase his overall ability and awareness of the game, i find it criminally frustrating, but he is doing it for a reason, of which i am hoping we will see next season.

As for Chamakh, definitely something going on behind the scenes IMO, nobody loses confidence that fast.

Maybe that story getting out about his raunchy orgies with hookers was a bigger distraction than it shoulda been
