Lawro said it wasn't a pen.

A DM needs to be a clean tackler like Song, DJ isnt and yes we don't need Melo with 19 yellows and his 3 red cards already
A DM needs to be confident on the ball like Song, DJ isnt.
A DM needs to make those through passes like Song, DJ can't.
A DM needs some dribbling to move forward like Song, DJ can't.
They aren't the assets for a DM, these are:
(1) Guarding the back four - Johan can do this FANTASTICALLY - 9/10
(2) Good Positioning or high work-rate - Djourou has both - 9/10
(3) Great reader of the game - Not his strongest point, but a decent one - 8/10
(4) Passing - I agree with you on this point, although not great at it, he's capable of spraying some decent passes - 7/10
From my assets for a DM Djourou is built for this role, it's his prefered position and he could pull it off perfectly.

Well, he can start there at the reserves and Carling Cup. Something Tells me that Eastmond and Coquelin will still do better than him.
