That's true

I still don't get why Suarez used his hands when he could have headed it as his head was on the line.

I also feel sorry for ghana but their two missed pen were just horrible. that was more like a pass than a shot.

Has to be the most painful exit ever... what a heartbreaking way to be eliminated.

And I'm sorry and I know most are not going to see things this way. But that handball was amazing! There honestly was no other option. He wasn't going to be able to clear that with his head. If the ball goes in they're done and going home. The handball at least gives them a chance and Ghana has to score from the spot. Keeps hope alive that little bit longer and keeps them in with a chance. Pure genius from Suarez.

Not saying I like the rule, not saying it was fair, not saying Uruguay deserve to win because of it. But that was a very astute play by Suarez. Very aware of the situation.

His head was on the line, ok if he didn't jump then he wouldn't have stopped it but if he jumped rather than flapped his hands then he would have headed it away. At least that is what it looked like to me, if anyone has the replay then post it up.

I know what you mean though Leody, it was incredible self sacrifice and to be honest this has been the ultimate world cup of cheats so why not? lol

We'll never know if he would or wouldn't have been able to get the head there in time Rev... we'll never know...

It easily could have turned into one of those headers into the top of the net you've seen dozens of times before.

And I honestly don't think that is cheating at all. The rules are clear, the punishment was taken and Ghana failed to put them to the sword. Rules are rules. :dontknow:

Sorry I have no sympathy for Ghana.

They deserve what they got. Gyan bottled it and his team suffered.

The world cup can be cruel sometimes but Ghana had it in their hands. They cannot ask for more and if they threw the chance then they dont deserve to be in it.

True, he made sure I guess.

He got fairly punished no doubt but deliberate handball is cheating just like deliberate diving or feigning injury.

Will it be the iconic moment of this world cup?

I cannot believe how Ghana just gave it away.

Using two hands to bat away the ball? Ghana not converting the penalty? This is the World Cup!

You've got to take your chances, score your goals. Ghana weren't unlucky, they put their punishment upon themselves.
