Evra: Traitor is still among us

France captain Patrice Evra is furious the bust-up between Nicolas Anelka and Raymond Domenech was leaked to the press

French newspapers reported that Anelka launched an 'astonishing verbal attack' after 'exploding in a rage in the dressing room' during the half-time interval of the Mexico clash.

And when French Football Federation president Jean-Pierre Escalettes asked the player to apologise but he reportedly refused to do so he was sent home.

And now Manchester United defender Evra wants to find out which member of Les Bleus' World Cup party went to the French media to reveal the details of the argument that led to Anelka's exit from the squad.

"The problem of France is not Anelka, but the traitor among us," said Evra.

"We must eliminate the traitor from the group, because he wants to hurt the team.

"There is no little mouse in the locker room, this comes from someone who is on the team and wants to hurt the team.

"We are not going to lie, the reporter [from L'Equipe] did not make this up.

"I do not know anything [about this person], I am not a magician."

However, whilst Evra is frustrated that the bust-up became public knowledge he did accept that Anelka had stepped over the line.

"His comments are unacceptable," added Evra

Anelka also expressed disappointment at the leaking of the argument but insisted his aim was never to destabilise the squad and wished them luck for their remaining campaign.

"It happened within the confines of the changing rooms, between the coach and me, in front of my team-mates and the staff," said Anelka.

"That should never have come out of the changing rooms.

"I don't know who can benefit from that, but repeating these kind of things certainly doesn't help (the team).

"My aim was never to destabilise the French team, an institution I respect.

"I accept my exclusion from the France team and I wish them good luck."

My money's on Gallas

It's all falling apart around their ears.

I feel sorry for Sagna and Diaby who deserve a bit more success. Hope they don't come back feeling shit.

Could be Malouda since he already had a go at Domenech.

Not Gallas, he is not talking to the media.

It is probably someone who dislikes Anelka but likes Domenech.

I'm putting my money on Evra. There's a video of him having a fight with the fitness director on youtube.

Evra is the 3rd best left back in the squad. Which moron made him captain? All of the goals have been down to him and Abidal.
