All the commentators here are English (Martin Tyler Ian Dark etc), thank God as the last WC was awful.

I wanted to stab myself in the ears listening to that last time. I shit you not, I turned on the German commentary on Setanta to avoid that shit.

IT'S IN THE BACK OF THE NET!!! And non-stop mindless dribble about Japan's midfielder's cousins college roommate who used to be the equipment manager for the New York Yankees in 1983 and got to meet George Stienbrener. I seriously don't give a rat's ass about the player's backgrounds, shut up and either talk about the game or don't talk at all. Or at least talk about something football related.

The worst was "oh it looks like the referee has given a PK" or "this one is tied and is going to OT" Horrible commentary. :shifty:

Well you know that they had horrible commentary last time around. They put out a commercial advertising Martin Tyler this time around... haha.

This space used to be more fun...

Can't see it over here, it's a violation of copyright or whatever crap they put in the box.

why is it they refer to the ivory coast by their french name yet call most other nations by their english name? the commentators constantly call it cote'd'ivoar (sp?) so why not use deutchsland, espania, francais etc?

:rofll: :rofll:

that is certainly a selling point, yank commentary is notoriously terrible. i still have nightmares about the charity shield where the two yanks were at a loss about who was in goal for chelsea and started ranting about it being unfair that they've substituted their goalkeeper (cech had just taken his head protection off) :rofll: that was followed by with every 20 seconds of the penalty shoot out the div refering to it as "P.K" "it's drogba to take the P.K", must've been sponsored by the chewing gum company :rofll:

So far, they all seem to be carving up quite easily.

Back to the piss take, I'd love to hear some of this American commentary to laugh over. We have this programme over here called SoccerAM, and there was this piss-take over Boston when they were in L2 (Boston being the only American team in the league) and the spoof commentary always went on about PK's etc.

Meantime, this game has turned stale now.

Martin Tyler SLAMING Portugal as they go to half.

"Dreadfully negative and quite frankly disgusting display."

Can't say I disagree... but a bit harsh. Everybody has been playing to make it to half scoreless then maybe nick one in the second.
