I Phone help

Postby Trina » Tue Dec 04, 2018 4:54 am

Hi Guys,

My son is driving me up the wall with his iphone and I really dont like iphones! Its iphone 5s.

Okay, his phone is prompting him for his user id password but he doesn't know it. (My eldest daughter set the phone up for him a long time ago). So I go to recover password, the email on it is the user id one he doesn't have the password for. The other option says to put in your date of birth, but my daughter cant remember what she put in!

So I went down the restore the phone through Itunes. I have the option on it, but it wont do it as "Find my phone" is switched on. I cant switch the bloody thing off because its asking for the password!

Help? :BangHead:

loool gg

You'll have to put the phone in DFU mode, which will allow it to be restored from any state (like your current predicament).
1. Connect the phone to your computer with the lightning-USB cable.
2. Hold both the home button and the lock button.
3. Stop holding the lock button after 8-10 seconds (but keep holding the home button!!!).
4. If it worked, the phone screen will be black. If not, there will be an Apple logo displayed. If it didn't work, try again until you get a black screen.
5. iTunes will automatically detect the phone is in recovery mode. If iTunes says to connect the phone, try again starting at step 2.
6. Do what you originally did by clicking the 'Restore iPhone' button on iTunes. If the phone isn't backed up, then your son will lose all his data, but that's better than not being able to use the phone at all.

That should work :Peace:

Did all that fine but......

This iPhone is linked to an Apple ID. Enter the Apple ID and password that were used to set up this iPhone.

So is it the phone password or the apple id/email password that you don't have? Or both.

You should be able to reset the email and apple id passwords from alternative devices such as a PC.

Have you tried to reset the security questions?
