Best selling price for a PS3?

Postby Gunner Down Under » Sat Mar 12, 2011 8:28 am

I've just had a PS3 that suffered the YLOD, it's currently being repaired in a repair shop that's charging about $100 AUD on it- about 60 pounds I'm guessing?

However I've heard stories that once a PS3 yets YLODed it's better off gone, and make sure it's not going to happen again I may as well get a new one- because I don't want to pay 60 pounds every time it does, and it's a 60GB version which is the most prone to it and also you can't take the disc out through the emergency way.

So I would think that selling it would be the way to go, but what price realistically would I sell it at? I've been browsing around on ebay and at the moment it doesn't look as if you're going to get over 180 pounds for it.

I would like to get at least 50% of a new PS3 value on it (about $250 AUD/ about 170 pounds) but would that be realistic?

This is for a PS3 60GB with all necessary cables, 1 mini-USB cable and with no controller (yes some bastards on ebay sold me fake controllers, I'm not impressed)

Or should I stick with my fixed PS3? Decisions decisions.....

Oh and my currency conversions are purely guesswork. I hope I'm somewhere close.

Sell it now and wait a month or 2 for the PS3 price drop. It's dropping to around £170, so you're sorted

I've got the original 60GB PS3 and I've never had the YLOD on mine

But I'd personally take mine into GAME over here and trade it, all my games for a new one or a shitload of XB360 Games.
