You don't get these problems with the PS1.

Mines seem to have messed up today.

I dont know about the YLOD thing but when i turn it on, it turns off again almost straight away and the disc in it atm is not coming out

Do you have an fat PS3?

If its not a 60GB, turn it off at the back, put your finger on the eject button and turn it back on via the switch.

It will emergency eject the disk.

Any idea on how to make the god damn PS3 work though?

I rarely play games on it. Only when there are people round but i need it to watch my huge collection of DVDs

Short of getting it fixed by Sony (Will cost you £130 if its out of warranty) or going to independent repair peeps (Costs £80) then there isn't much you can do unless you are a bit hands on and have a 2000w heat gun available.

Took my PS3 to PS Pros and it was fixed whilst i waited. Tested it out there and looked to be ok. Havent tried it at home yet

Nah this was in East London. 20 minute tube ride away. Installed a cooling fan for free in to the PS3 and just have to keep that on whilst on PS3 to make sure it doesnt overheat again

Thats the one although i got a white guy but there were other people there working as well so you could have got one of them.

Still havent tried it out yet. Will do so tomorrow or the weekend most likely as i only ever play Pro 11 and ive let someone borrow that
