Any Wii Experts?

Changed game on the Wii, and ever since then, no matter what disc is in, there's an error message saying that it can't read the disc.

Nothing happened prior to this, everything worked, and simply changing the disc stopped it working.

Anyone got any ideas?

What's the exact error message?

Try deleting the saved memory or make sure your Wii is upgraded

Formatted the drive with no success.

It just says the Wii is unable to read the disc, no error code, nothing.

The only other thing I can think of is battered/scratched discs or putting the disc in the incorrect way ?

Otherwise your drive seems to be f***ked, try the wii lens cleaner (official nintendo product), though firstly unplug it for a few days and see if it works after that.

Have you ever used anything you shouldn't? Like illegal copies etc? I know they can mess up the system when you put in a new game if it upgrades the system.

No, nothing illegal ever went through it.

Oh well, repair man tomorrow at hugely inflated costs I suppose :( Faultless timing a couple of days before Christmas

Did you try putting in the old disk again? The one that you removed to get the message?

What game was it?

Some of the bigger games on Dual Layer DVD's can play havok with the buffers inside the Drive, Super Smash Brothers was the first to do it, its a common error and should be an easy repair with Nintendo if you blag it (If its out of warranty)

Tried all the discs that have worked previously and got the same message.

I'm guessing the laser has packed up, or has been knocked out of position slightly.
