Im in need of a new laptop and Im thinking of buying one pretty soonish. The only problem being that I dont know the first thing about laptop sepcifications to be honest!

Im looking for one that I'll be able to play football manager on and just ususally just you general internet browsing with the occassional music download, nothing fancy.
Im also not looking to spend too much over £320 seeing as I just spent £711 on a holiday to Florida recently!

So can anyone help me out with what I should be looking for in a laptop and decent prices for them?

Cheers guys!

Iv just found this sexy little number. Will def handle FM and some older games (nothing really newer than Crisis) But has plenty of storage, 4Gb of ram ( will handle having many apps/programs running at the same time ) Windows 7 and under £400

Have a look around on ebuyer, they do some pretty good deals. Im using one i got from them last year for about the same money as this but iv only got a 250Gb hard drive.

I'm hoping to get a new laptop this weekend. I only do basic things like photo editing and watching arsenalplayer. (Don't tell the mrs but i'm also considering re-discovering championship manager).

Question:

What is more important the processor or the ram?

Should i go for an i5/i7 processor with only 4gb ram or a not so good AMD processor with 8gb ram?

Considering this one atm:

^ just posed the same question on twitter abbreviating arsenal player to 'arseplayer' and championship manager to 'champ man'.

After expressing concern about my possible return playing championship manager the mrs pointed out that 'arseplayer' and 'champ man' sound like gay porn sites :hiding:

Either should be good enough for Champ manager and Photoshop. Only really makes a difference if you're considering playing bigger games and software such as 3ds Max and Maya

Pudpop - Cheers for the reply, sounds like i don't need to worry about it too much.

Max - i think football manager is made by the people that used to make championship manager. There was a falling out and they made their own version. So ok, thats the one i'll go for.

Yeah it is, Championship Manager is still made though but it's really dire.

I've only tried FM13 demo once on my computer and it was a little slow, need to try it again before buying it.

Mate I suggest you don't buy Football Manager, unless you want to lose all form of social activities, its so addictive. I had a patch when I played it none stop for about 3 months, I made a dugout in my back garden and donned a suit when I logged on.
