Just found out Bendtner is our longest serving player at this club!

13th of May 2012 Arsenal beat West Brom 3-2 to finish 3rd ahead of Newcastle. Gooney is still yet to leave the forum...

bit of a tricky 1 this mate
flamini made his debut for us the longest time ago 15th august 2004 having joined on the 1st july that year
his time at the club has been 4 years 1 month all told
djourou signed up on 14th july 2003 but did,nt make a debut till 27th october 2004
but his time at the club as a senior pro is the longest 9 years 2 months taking away his periods on loan
bendtner signed up on on 1st july 2005 making his debut on the 25th october
but his periods on loan mean he has been here 5 years 10 months
diaby signed in jan 2006 7 years 8 months ago and has the longest unbroken[yes injurys i know] at
the club
walcott signed a few days later in the same window 7 years 8 months
rosicky signed summer 06 7 years 2 months
fabianski signed summer 07 6 years 2 months
sagna followed a few days later 6 years 2 months
gibbs has also spent the same amount of time at the club in real terms as bendtner 5 years 10 months
and this is all batting without wilshere who has been here since he was 9 nearly 12 years
ago
i guess there are a few ways of working this out
i would tend to go for walcott with 268 appearances

Its totally unacceptable that hes in the squad.

No, bygones can not be bygones.

I dont blame Wenger for this situation, its all Bendtner. He has failed at Arsenal and it would appear hes also been obstructive re signing for another club. That said, Wenger shouldn't have named him in the squad.

Wheres the pride in sticking around where youre not wanted. I really hope he doesnt play a single minute for us.

There's no pride. He stitched himself up in a way because he buggered up the deals with other clubs this summer and last, and the fact that he strung them out for so long meant that when our attempts to buy a striker failed we had to force him to stay.
The Demba Ba deal only fell through on deadline day. If he'd agreed a deal with Palace/Hull quicker it wouldn't have been an issue.

He may not play a single minute but it all depends on the fitness of Giroud. If Giroud gets injured after Pod returns to the squad then Pod will go up front rather than Bendtner.
So he could spend a lot of time on the bench only to get sold in January if we somehow get a striker then.

I hope 2013/14 Giroud is our 2011/12 RVP in that he was an almost ever present up front with back up hardly needed. We had Park and Chamakh who barely stepped on the pitch that season, with Henry coming in during January. This time around we have Bendtner and Sanogo to get us to January when Podolski comes back. Throw Theo in the mix if Wenger decides to play him up front. I don't think we will be seeing much of Bendtner to be honest. (unless Wenger really is brave enough to rotate Giroud)

We scraped through that season with short numbers up front. It looks like more of the same this time.

anyone who doesn't want him to do good for us is not quite understanding it, we suffer if he doesn't do well because we didn't buy a striker, he has to do well and we should want him to because if giroud gets injured and he is no good we are in trouble

Fair point actually. Also if he comes on and scores every time then maybe the bigger clubs will come in for him and we can actually get a decent fee for him.

He's months away from being fit, let alone reintergrating and playing at a level anywhere near required. Podolski will be back well in time before Bendtner is required/ready. We won't see Bendtner imo.

It could work out just fine, its just not ideal (and preventable, which is why people can't let it go).

I dont want him to do badly, I want him to not play! If he does play however I hope he has the decency to do a professional job.... but thats as far as it goes. If he scores as far as im concerned its strictly business and I will still see him as an outsider.
