The Bendtner conundrum

PG just look at the facts! He is perfectly happy to sit around doing nothing rather than be playing football every week if it means a smaller wage packet. That is absolutely reprehensible even if you can look past his off the field antics

Maybe, I'm not saying he's not arrogant, but if you were given a contract with a certain wage would you leave and go somewhere to earn half as much? He wants to play and thinks he should. It isn't that he wants to sit around doing nothing, he wants to play, but he wants to do that at a big club.

If I was a professional footballer I'd much rather stay at Arsenal surrounded by good players than go to Crystal Palace, earn half as much money and face a relegation battle. He's ambitious, not lazy imo.

I disagree. Thing is if he goes to Palace, bangs 15-20 goals in, people would take him seriously. If he sits around doing nothing at Juventus and at our club, who is going to want to sign him? I mean if he doesn't play sooner or later only Championship and strange obscure Eastern European clubs would take him and nobody will take him seriously again, so the £50,000 pw would be nice now but he would be lucky to earn £5,000pw when he eventually leaves, his career would literally be over.

Not playing massively decreases your value and your career length, we where trying to sell him for £2 million, that shows how very little we think of him, back in 09/10 he was worth about £8-10 million. Clubs like Hamburg wont bother trying to sign him next window if he doesn't do anything for us. I'd be very happy if Bendtner chipped in with 10-15 goals then f***ked off somewhere next year.

But if he's as arrogant as people say then he probably believes he's good enough if given a chance to prove himself at arsenal and juve. Wasn't he injured for most of his time at juve? So he never really got a chance there.

I really don't know what to make of him and the situation but I've always thought he was a good player and just needed a chance in his best position - which he never really got.

If Bendtner had any real ambition he would have jumped at the opportunity to learn next to RvP, and then replace him. That wasn't the case

If Bendtner had any ambition, he would have gone to the first half decent club that would start him and push himself into consideration for that los Galacticos move.

I just think he's not very smart. A footballers shelf life is short, if he was smart he'd swallow his pride a bit and just play some football somewhere. I think he's only hurting his career.

He didn't turn down palace though, the only reason he didn't go is that we didn't get ba :dontknow:

He turned down Hamburg earlier in the summer claiming 'they were not big enough'. Hopefully he knuckles down and actually works hard for us now.

He's a similar player to giroud so would be good cover.
