Bendtner - lucky escape from car crash

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner cheated death yesterday after writing off his £120,000 Aston Martin.

The Danish international walked away with just bumps and bruises after careering off the road on his way to the Gunners' training ground.

Police said no other vehicle was involved and confirmed the 21-year-old, who also drives a 4x4 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, was not seriously hurt.

A club source said Bendtner, who joined the Gunners' youth academy in 2004, realised he was lucky to survive the crash.

The source said: "Nicklas swerved off the road. It all happened so quickly.

Apparently he escaped unhurt thankfully, but he is OUT of tomorrows clash with Olympiakos, most probably shaken up by the accident, dont know full details yet, but happy that no-one was hurt.
