Just goes to show how important having a good, in form keeper is...

If Flappy or Almunia had played we would have conceded.

1 was the amazing game against fulham and the other was horrible. he didn't get many chances compared to almunia who is shit. I just don't want to see almunia in goal again. fabianski doesn't looked really good during his games so I would rather see scieczy or mannone.

mannone played 4 games on loan at barnsley in the 06/07 season
last season he played 8 games for us
standard liege[a]
wigan [h] very good
fulham[a] superb
olympiacos[h] ave
blackburn[h ] ave
birmingham [h]poor
alkmaar[a] ave
west ham [a] poor

The CL game was against Liege or something, Gallas conceded a penalty and the defence over the course of the whole game was absolutely shit, yet he was blamed, even though he was much better in the 2nd half and we won...

He is better than Almunia and Fabianski.

he kept 3 clean sheets
wigan fulham and olympicos

If we're not prepared to stick with Almunia then I'd much rather take a risk on Szczesny to be honest.

And yet that was with an inexperienced 21 year old keeper...

IMO Mannone > Schenfireuiphcpheup

I think Schiuhcfdeur[fbucr[ehwu is good but the only reason peoples balls are busting is because he was good for Brentford, he has been mega hyped up.

BTW this post was purely tongue in cheek, AW would never let it happen.

the Fulham game was the best performance by an arsenal keeper last season.

Yesterday just proves again why, in the event we do not sign a GK, he should be made Number 1.

Sunday league style defending today, if anyone outside saw the match they'd never believe it was Arsenal playing.

I honestly don't see how you've come to that conclusion. If anything yesterday's game strengthened Szczesny's case for number one, not Mannone's.

If anything it damaged Szczesny's case, bar that double save he was far too rash for the other goals.

He reminds me of Akinfeev.

Mannone for Number 1.

It didn't damage his case at all. Neither of the two goals conceded were his fault, if anything they were due to flaws in our defensive system and a series of individual errors that left him exposed. He didn't just make that double save either, you could clearly see him organising the defence at set-pieces whilst also making an impressive stop right at the death to keep us in the lead and subsequently hand us the victory. That's more than can be said for Mannone, who apart from one penalty stop hasn't had all that much to do this pre-season.
