Player Bio

Vito Mannone joined Arsenal's academy in July 2005. He made his first team debut on the last day of the 08/09 season against Stoke City, winning 4-1.

Vito was promoted from the reserves up the the first team squad. He is Arsenal's third choice goalkeeper, but has show lots of promise in the reserves.

Vito played four games on loan at Barnsley in 2006/07. In the 07/08 season he was on the bench for a handful of first-team games but never tasted the action.

He did appear in 13 Reserves games and made a notable penalty save in the final minute at Reading to preserve a 1-1 draw.

Vito got his first team debut aganist Stoke in the Premier League. He had a good game and not looking troubled, although Stoke didn't record many chances that day. Only the penalty, which Vito was unable to save.
