‘It’s difficult when you don’t play regularly"

Arsène Wenger admits Andrey Arshavin’s lack of match action makes it difficult for him to slot seamlessly back into the team.

Arshavin started a Premier League match for the first time since the defeat at Blackburn when Fulham earned a 1-1 draw at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Wenger believes it is tough for a player to shine after a prolonged spell on the sidelines but backed the Russian to find his best form in the near future.

“I believe it is difficult for a player when he doesn't play regularly to be absolutely exceptional,” said the Frenchman.

“I don't think he had a bad game but I think he suffered a little bit from the fact we were not as sharp as we might have been.

“Your confidence is not at the top as well when you don't play for one month. You need to play regularly.

“He will come back. He works hard in training and has a good attitude so we just have to keep him tight.”

The odd game here or there aside he's been pretty muck the whole time he has been at Arsenal. It looked as if he was really trying earlier in the season, and I was really hoping he'd turned a corner, but he really doesn't add anything to the team, playing time or not.

Excuses, excuses, excuses.

Your right Fabs he really hs been shite for us apart from a few games here and there. His game has become ridiculously predictable. Gets the ball out left and cuts inside looking for the shot. Each time the defenders double up and he looses the ball.

You left out the part where he sulks and watches the other team take the ball to our end while he walks back with his head down.
This space used to be more fun...
