I feel old...do you?

Postby Trina » Sat Feb 14, 2009 7:25 pm

Me and Fordy were just talking about how things have changed.

Lets see....

Top Of The Pops, I want it back! At one time that was near enough the only way to find out the charts, now there are so many music channels they sent it packing :naughty:

Lilly Savage! I used to love watching his programes, lol. Now known as Paul O'Grady.

S Club Juniors, have you seen them now (Band is Saturdays)? Blimey!

Chocolate! Nearly 50p for a bar, used to only be about 20p!

I'll add more later, I'm sure some of you must see things that make you feel old now, so lets hear em :)

When I started driving gas was $1.00 per gallon here in the states...

It's not down to the lowest it's been in ages at $2.00 but I have paid as much as $3.80...

When you spend $50 to fill a Honda Civic something is wrong...

On the old thing Trina.. Not alot that has changed makes me feel old its me thats changing that makes me feel older. For instance when I was 18 I could go to a club on practically no sleep the night before go out stay up til like 8am and get up at 12noon the day after and be totally fine. Now I go out and I'm dead the whole next day. :(

I still remember the day MTV started broadcasting - you know, when they actually played music videos. Now its unrecognizable and I do not even have it on my channel list.

Ahhh, I feel that! Not often we go out, but we sometimes have all nighters at home :sneaky:

But the next day I am totally screwed, sometimes for 2 days! When I first met Fordy (before we got together properly) we was up for 3 days solid, had half a days sleep and I was fine. I think that would kill me now.

:dontknow:

Sucks for you I guess...

But for the price to have increased 400% in 12 years? There's something wrong with that...

Whigfield - Saturday Night :D

Remember being in Benidorm at the time, it was on every two minutes! Came home, put the tv on and guess what was on :BangHead: Alright for a while, but I heard it way too many times!

Where do I start?

Simon Mayo on Radio 1 Breakfast. That was in the mid 80's and I was in my twenties! (*** t**t, but entertaining all the same)

On that theme, the charts used to be released on Tuesday at lunchtime, which meant everyone was crowded around a radio during lunch! When Tommy Vance did the Top 40 on Sunday on Radio 1, the chart was already 5 days old.....

1983 was the year I left school. In those days I sported a mullet. Whatever happened to them? Women had big hair, whatever happened to that?

Jam jars had cut out "Gollywogs" which have now been outlawed. Is this still regarded as racist?

Football pitches resembled mud baths and supporters used to throw toilet rolls onto the pitch (Usually stolen earlier in my case from Tesco in the Catford Centre)

The GLC. Enough said!

Best of all, when I was a kid, Middlesex were a Division 2 side.....
