I don't know how many of you urbanites fish or hunt at all but we that do tend to take "hero" shots! I escape "reality" by getting back to actual reality in the great outdoors. My first fishing of any note was while on holiday in a caravan at Loch Sween in Scotland. It set a course for my life in understanding nature and life! So here is my first installment. From last week while off grid.

HMS Charlie George at anchor. The Ghetto Yacht, our sanctuary. I put an Arsenal decal on the side and have all sorts of folks ask if is the make of boat! Then I have some Chelsea supporter giving me grief!

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I clicked into this thread .......... but I was prepared for anything.

The large ones that contribute back to the genetics yes or species such as carp that taste like shit. That pike swam free. Smaller ones, we call "eaters" especially walleye which are our version of European zander get ate. Eaters are between 1 and 4 pounds.

We get perhaps 80% of our meat protein from venison, pheasants, fish and occasional wild boar which we hunt in Missouri.

I get triggered when folks murder carrots by pulling them out of Mother Earth's very womb! Oh the screams of horror and they are extracted, peeled alive and boiled. Sick sadistic vegans! Not to mention potatoes! Onions! The very thought of their fate makes me cry! Veggie bean babies aborted as sprouts. Their soy mothers raped, killed and then turned into a subhuman resource such as tofu...think of that TOFU ! It stands for Torch Out (the gas and) f**k You fellow tube riders) ! Genocide I say, it is genocide. And then we have the species rights issue of deer browsing and bison eating trillions of blades of innocent grass. Oh the humanity! I wish I had a mind to wrap around these issues. We need a global equivalent of PETA for plants.

I do a little bass fishing. Was just at the lake of the Ozarks over the weekend. Only caught a few 3 pounders, but they're big enough to make it fun. I snagged a 3 ft gar by the tail, and that was fun trying to reel in for about 10 mins.

I used to get sticklebacks with my net and put them in jam jars when I was a kid.

Moved on to angling but couldn't get into it. The pub was more interesting.
