He went for a walk with his 7 year old daughter one day, and on the way back they passed a house that they had seen a few times that had rabbits running around the front garden - and a sign in Italian saying they were for sale. His daughter pleaded with him to buy her a rabbit that she could keep at her grandparents until she went home. In the end he agreed, so they went over and asked the man for a rabbit. They agreed a price, and as his daughter stood excitedly waiting for her new pet, the man walked over, picked up a rabbit, snapped its neck and held it out for my friend to take.

Remember 20 odd years ago back home in India or Pakistan, I don't remember which. They all look the same. My uncle had a goat. Called the butcher. Cut the goat up in front of us and cooked that day. Having seen all the blood and stuff, no way I was going to eat that.
Had it the next day. Very nice.

This is why most folks in the UK have no idea about nature or reality! "If you kill it you eat it or wear it" is the responsible outdoors man's credo, so suggest urbanites take on one that states " If I eat it I will kill it". God help the wolf that worries about the deer he must kill to survive.
This is a thread for real men, not animal rights pussies! BTW, goat is wonderful. So is squirrel. Especially grey squirrels which are invasive in the UK and are doing great harm to red squirrel populations. Eat a grey squirrel, save a red squirrel!

Nice meat. A bit like the chicken thigh dark meat. Lots of little bones to watch out for.
I'd eat it again. My Mrs wouldn't. But then she's never had it.

I recall the butchers on Bromley High Street with rabbits, pheasant, duck and the like hanging in the window unskinned and unplucked. Imagine the outrage now!
