Kuwaiti shop caught sticking googly eyes on fish

A fishmonger in Kuwait has been closed down for sticking googly eyes on fish to make them appear fresher.

A video of the fish was first circulated among local WhatsApp users.

And images, including one showing one of the fake eyes slipping off, have been shared on social media by local bloggers and newspaper Al Bayan.

Rival Kuwaiti fish sellers reacted by advertising fresh fish "without cosmetics" with a picture of a fish and a selection of coloured contact lenses.

A new prime time TV quiz/gameshow in China that is completely about President Xi Jinping. It's excitingly named 'Studying Xi in the New Era'.

Contestants compete against each other in two rounds of questions about him.

"President Xi, at the age of 15, was sent from Beijing to Liangjiahe in Shaanxi province to become a farmer. During that period of time, he was eager to acquire knowledge. He even walked 15km (9 miles) to borrow a book. What's the name of it?" fired off the host.

One contestant fired back with "Faustus" - no hesitation whatsoever.

"Congratulations. That's correct," said the host to polite applause from the studio audience.

"What theory is great theory?" was a question asked by Ai Silin, who is president of the School of Marxism at Tsinghua University and invited onto the show as an expert.

"It must be a scientific theory for the people. Nowadays, it must be Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era," said another contestant who won praise for his perfect answer.

Woman paralysed after being 'catapulted' off bed during sex

A woman left paralysed after being "catapulted" from her new bed during sex is suing a bed firm for damages.

She told the court she "swung her legs" from underneath her, before lying back on the bed.

At that point, she claims, the bed gave way and she toppled off the end, landing on her head.

She said: "I spun around, I put my hand down and then I felt like I was catapulted off the back of the bed.

Winston Hunter, for Ms Busby, said it was "accepted that the particular circumstances of the accident are unusual", but claimed the firm was still liable.

Two nuns who worked at a Catholic school in California have admitted embezzling about $500,000 (£396,000) and using it to gamble in Las Vegas.

Sisters Mary Kreuper and Lana Chang took the money from St James' Catholic School in the city of Torrance, near Los Angeles, to spend in casinos.

A robot on show at a Russian state-sponsored event has turned out to be a man dressed in a costume.

Robot Boris featured on Russian state sponsored TV, and was apparently able to walk, talk and dance.

But soon after its appearance journalists began to question the robot's authenticity.

In a picture published afterwards on social media, the neck of a person was clearly visible.

Stealing is wrong of course, but if you're going to do it, at least its from a church, they don't pay taxes and are given money every week by their members, so I'm sure they'll be ok.
