Can we have space oddity from the will kenny Everett make it to 1980 show please
It was recorded on 18 th sept 1979 shown at 11 pm on New Year's Eve
How sad was I as a 16 year old?
I was on my own in my aunts flat in bow babysitting my little cousin who was 6 months old( I've never really liked going out New Year's Eve) I think it's a mugs night.
But on my own with a baby?
What were they thinking?
I could barely look after myself
I remember watching carry on dick before the show
We knew how to live in them days tee hee
Mind you my uncle ( who is a Leyton orient supporter) took me to Southampton the next day for an 11- 30 kick off
We beat em 1-0 willie young scored
Anyway
The song
It was a different version recorded for the show and I really like it
The programme was directed by David mallett who went on to direct a few Bowie video including ashes to ashes

Can we have bus stop as today's track please
Bit of a gem this one mate
Bowie does country and western live at the Nk hall Tokyo 6 th February 1992
What had started out as an attempt to write a musical of Steven berkoffs play west ,the idea was abandoned than became a two minute song on tin machine's debut album
However it was live where it found a home
Played as a country song in the style of jagger does country before returning for that 2 minute thrash that was on the debut
Tin machine could lack subtlety but there is a lot of humour in this

 Whilst there is a hint of burlesque, I think his voice actually compliments the genre very well.

Hank Williams-like.

Can we have hallo spaceboy from the New Year's Eve special 95 into 96 channel 4 programme the white room as today's track please.
Presented by Mark Radcliffe a really witty Bowie/ music fan who still presents a fantastic afternoon Show on 6 music
It's a real shame that this music show only ran for one season.
Recorded on the 14 th December at London's westway studios
Bowie and the band were on magnificent form giving a driving performance of what has become one of my favourite songs.

I was just listening to Modern Love

Not one of his most fashionable songs and some would probably say it's not aged well but I disagree

Bowie's vocals are strong and the production qualities are excellent.

Yes there is a seperate hallo spaceboy available in England but it's absolutly fine that you posted his whole set from the White room as on all four songs the band were magnificent.
I planned to request boys keep swinging from it at a later date anyway .
Now I don't need to
It's there for all to see
Ufgn with regards modern love
A likeable if slightly bland tune
It worked well as a concert closer on the serious moonlight tour and as a third single of let's dance it was ok.
Can we have moonage daydream from the final ziggy concert at Hammersmith as today's track please.
A real showcase for mick ronson who is on top axeman form

Can we have sue( or in a season of crime) as todays track please
The version that was released as a single in 2014 for the compilation album nothing as changed for which bandleader Maria Schneider won a best arrangement Grammy.
It was rerecorded for blackstar which was posted a few months ago but it would be great to have this version as well for comparison

Can we have the dreamers from the album hours as today's track please
Like much of the album this is ok but when was that ever good enough for bowie?
This sounds like the kind of album a 52 year old man would make
I am still trying with it and individually the songs are( that term again ) ok
But you shouldn't really have to try
It was made for a video game and there is a instrumental of the song which ain't too bad
But after a run of corkers this is a bit of a miss step

Can we Alabama song as today's track please
Someone named primrose popinjay has posted a clip of him sound checking the song in Australia in 1978 on YouTube
Sadly it is only a short fragment. So would it be possible to also post a version of the song that someone named tin toy has posted on Vimeo a remastered version of the song with some interesting clips from various stages of his career
