I'm in shock. Had no idea he was ill. What a terrible start to 2016, so depressing.

A loss which cannot be overstated; an icon beyond just music. Truly unique, he was from a different planet.

There won't ever be another like him.

R.I.P

Special commiserations to Starman, I know he's a huge fan.

Just terrible. I'm lost for words.

What a great musician, songwriter, innovator.

Its impossible for someone with a legacy like his to really die. The man may be gone, but his music will live for hundreds of years.

Quite extraordinary singer/songwriter who's music surpasses any other of any era.
Such a sad loss.
RIP.

Can't wrap my head around this to be honest

I've never really been a listener but my mum and dad absolutely adored him

I've heard that his new album is a bit eerie, almost as if it was a parting gift

Didn't know he was ill either, a few days ago I received an email about his Blackstar album becoming available on Spotify so I would have never guessed he was so seriously ill.

Really sad news ... RIP David
