A man has been stabbed to death in broad daylight in Islington after reportedly trying to stop a mugging.

Police were called to Essex Road at 5.30pm on Saturday where they found the man, aged in his 50s, with stab wounds.

The victim was treated by paramedics but he was pronounced dead at 17:58pm.

Residents said the man was a local flower seller who was trying to stop a mugging when he was stabbed.

Police said his family has been informed.

If you think that's bad, logically, this happens almost daily, definitely weekly in London all year round, this one just made the headlines.

This is why when I was at school in London I used to travel to college with an iron pipe and a commando knife in my school bag.

I'll make it clear though, it was for self defence only.

Fact is I felt I had to, there had been many occasions before where I'd get caught up in situations growing up in the streets of Hackeny and by that age I wasn't looking to be some victim or statistic.

Sad state of affairs, where I moved to back to my home town we settle disagreements with our fists, you can get hurt sure but its fair and you go home afterward, no reason to take someones life or ruin your own.

Each to their own I guess.

When I look back on it now, kids shouldn't feel they have to go to school armed, but that was life at the time unfortunately and the above article is exactly the reason why.

That is cheating in my book. Having a biological man competing against women is wrong in my opinion.
