Well they don't necessarily believe that all the energy was in one place either

They do however believe that an incredibly large explosive event happened but still cant explain the cause

I haven't heard any new interpretations that don't follow the singularity theory.

Va-Va-Voom wrote:Where did the matter that exploded come from?

Ideas range from;

two different universes crashed together in a higher dimension, creating the energy that formed ours

to

"f***ked if we know"

Yup. This is how we're here today. A star pretty much begins its death when it starts producing carbon because that element is too heavy to maintain fusion iirc. And without those early stars dying and going (super)nova, elements as heavy as or heavier than carbon couldn't form and populate the universe.

That's what's so f***ing awesome to me about our existence: We literally come from stars.

Where did the matter that exploded come from?

That's the beauty of science. "Dunno based on available information" is an acceptable answer.

But, one theory is that in quantum mechanics, nothingness is inherently unstable. Something (space-time) is basically guaranteed to spontaneously occur so long as it doesn't violate the laws of quantum mechanics.

And another is that matter has simply always existed. As for how? Nobody knows.

Relax, gents.

It's just a PowerPoint file and you're downloading from the official website of the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

After clicking on the link the file will not download unless you choose to.

This may vary depending on your browser and its settings.

Firefox has an option that allows you to confirm each file before downloading.

Stupidly enough there is no such option in Chrome, regardless of your OS.

There’s a setting in chrome.

Settings
Downloads
Ask where to save files
Toggle on

Regardless I shouldn't be having to worry about whether a link is safe or not from someone on this site

Other diwnliads give an option but that one didn't. Its not my settings that are the problem

Stop moaning and change your settings if you’re that worried.

Hmm looks like Google finally implemented this option.

Up until recently there was no such thing in Chrome.

Still, Firefox master race.

You’re right, there wasn’t.

I think there was a big stink last year about it, so they added it.
