Yeah, but it opens up a whoile can of worms with regard to training and procedures. She might claim she wasn't trained properly. Maybe she was a rookie that had never been in this position before and panicked? Do tasers look like handguns in the USA? Its a massive error of judgement!

She had been a police officer for 26 years.

Accidents can happen.

Unfortunately when they involve deadly weapons the outcome can be terrible.

Armed police + armed civilians + regular incidents of police & civilians shooting each other + confrontation between the two = potential for someone getting killed.

These sort of incidents will continue to happen.

She is being charged with manslaughter.

Great news, hopefully she is convicted and gets the max sentence.

Of course it was an accident, you can hear it in her voice when she gasps that she shot him, maybe she was more "jumpy" than usual because he was black or more to the point, stereo typing that he may be involved in a gang, possibly? who knows, but she obviously didn't mean it.

However, mean it or not, a man is dead because you coudn't tell between a gun or a tazer even after handling weapons for 26 years, shape and feel of grip, weight of the weapon, guns are heavier than tazers surely and have a more weighty handle, there is no excuse for not knowing the difference ........... safety was obviously off, how is there not a difference in safety latches between a gun and a tazer??

Anyway.

It shocks me that you can go from this sensible man, to BLM burning down cities ........... yet this is about the same incident?
This is where America to me is in trouble, there is a chasim between Far Left activists just looking for an excuse to protest and a normal reasonable guy as per the video.

But then I have to admit, if I lived in a country where the outright stupidity of the police happens just over and over and over again plus their attitude of thinking they're John fkin Rambo then maybe I'd lose my sht as well.

Between this and Chauvin the state of the Minneapolis police really needs looking at.

I think the training and cowboy attitude of American police is shocking compared to British armed police, British armed police are trained to a level surpassing Army infantry in many ways, in particular of how to handle stressful situations.

The guy was an absolute idiot for resisting arrest like that and unfortunately ran into an even bigger idiot police officer who can't tell a gun from a tazer.

This will just keep happening because police officers are panicking and people under arrest now feel empowered to resist the police.

Calmer heads need to prevail and that includes politicians and the media constantly stoking the fires.

The above video I posted is a good watch, This guy used to be a police officer and his narration on the full video is very good.

@12:30 he gives his evaluation of the woman cop, "When people are hired just to fill quota's, stuff like this will happen".

............. how bang on is that.

Male or female, cops aren't always the brightest bunch.

Then to have to give them all guns...

And they do have to have them over there.

Mix that with non compliant idiots and you have a recipe for disaster.

The gun discussion in America is stupid.
There will never be any situation in America where the police can not have guns.
There are more guns in America than people. They are never fully coming out of circulation, so the cops need guns.
It's just the way it is.

The problem here is quite simple. A black man thinking he can get away with resisting police (which is not surprising given the environment created by politicians, the media and the ridiculous rioters that seem to be ready at a moments notice to organise and burn things down).

..and an idiot police officer who should have never been a police officer.

Sigh ................

Police man chases a 13 year old boy, tells him to stop and raise his hands, 13 yr old boy turns and raises hands, police man shoots him.

What is going on in America, they're now shooting infants.

Horrific scene.

I saw the full footage and the look on Adam's face as he's dying is horrifying.

He complied and was shot for it.

RIP

Shocking and unfortunate.
The kid should not have run and then when he turned, unfortunately his arms raised up from a hidden position from his belt line as he turned. Poor kid just panicked.
Not sure what to think about the officer. On the face of it, he made a huge error, but then I think of what officers, especially in Chicago, have to go through. What if the kid had a gun and was spinning around to shoot? One second too late and it could have been the officer dead.

There needs to be more education both for police officers and citizens Don't run, don't move suddenly, raise your hands high in the air and slowly. - straight up. For officers, I just don't think they should be chasing people down like this - there is no need. Unless the kid was an immediate threat to another citizen it would have been easier to let him run and track him without cornering him. They have infrared that can track people easily. They could easily find him later. IN non-critical situations, police officers don't need to put themselves in these situations. It's not Miami Vice. This is rea life - literally.

When you have deadly gun violence and criminals willing to shoot coppers so they can get away, you'll always have people getting shot by the police.

It's just a f***ked up place.
