It's never their fault, but I doubt many people would be able to stand looking 10 seconds at someone who's suffered a full blown acid burn to the face. It's that bad. Ruins your employment, romantic prospects, basically ruins your life.

It ruins your life entirely.

And yes, I can't look at acid attack/burn victims.

Too horrific.

If someone did that to me, what I would do to them and the lengths I would go to, would not be smart to announce on an internet forum.

Whoever posted that its being amended to a life sentence, yes it should be.

People think ISIS are sick, to think we have people just as demented walking among us who can't correlate in their "brain" the damage they are doing.

Take that fkin idiot who was going out with Fearne from The only way is Essex, got into an argument in a nightclub and threw acid not only on his victim but up into the air over lots of fellow clubbers, a lot of them innocent women.

Today the more than three years long Daesh/IS/ISIS siege (city was only supplied by air) of the Syrian city "Deir ez Zor" (Population nearly 300.000 in 2010) was lifted by the Syrian army and allied forces. The city nearly fall in Daesh hands after USA coalition airplanes bombed the defenders in September 2016 for over one hour "by accident" and Daesh simultaneously started attacking and split the government controlled area into two pockets.

Pathetic anyway.

Any modern army if allowed would have routed ISIS within a month and broke their back by taking all the territories they rely on to exist.

America hamstrung Russia and didn't / wouldn't do it themselves, even Iran would of done it.

America is happy ISIS are destabilizing the region.

Like the Taliban in Afghanistan?
Attacked by nearly all "Western armies" and still not beaten..

Iirc, Afghanistan is a much more unforgiving terrain, ie mostly unsuitable for major land invasions.

On top of that, the poor bastards have literally lived in war conditions for generations. Imagine being at war or dealing with foreign invaders for over 40 years. There's grown arse men who have only ever known bloodshed and anarchy.

Syria, although f***ked up under their regime, still had a semblance of order even if it was f***ked up.

Modern afghans were born into that shit.

Story time:

We had an Afghan kid come to our school back in the early 90s. This kid was pretty scrawny, not a word of English and stuck out like a sore thumb ie dress wise. Instant target for bullies.

Now the first and biggest bully in his year (massive Irish kid, well over 6 foot, built like a tank) tried to take his food in the dinner hall. Bully was a freak of nature. Bigger than a lot of grown men, had fists like paving slabs and that Neanderthal brow sat on a massive head.

The Afghan did not give a single f**k. The Afghan, without hesitation, jammed a fork into the bullys hand without getting up off his seat.

Everyone in that dinnerhall goes nuts and the hype train engaged immediately for the fight of the century after school.

The rumours spread so quickly, kids from other schools and local Roadmen from the area came down to witness the spectacle.

3.30pm hits and it's on.

Most kids were backing the bully, who far out weighed the Afghan kid.

I somehow got a spot near the front of the circle of doom, so was an eye witness when the fight began. Afghan kid stood calm, surrounded by probably a 100 people in a circle of no escape.

Bully makes an early move forward.

Afghan kid enters ninja mode, slides what looked like a pole out of his sleeve, splits it into two and goes off on the bully raining down blows from all angles.

Bully couldn't do shit.

I will never forget the 5 seconds of stunned silence followed by rabid hysteria as people watched the absolute madness unfold.

It was legit one of the most legit badman moves I've ever seen in my life.

Bully didn't want any of that shit and backed away, leaving the Afghan kid to get massive cheers and slaps on the back from the crowd, all while he couldnt understand a f***ing word of what anyone was saying.

After that day, no one as much as brushed past Afghan kid for the rest of the time he was at school.

Don't ever f**k with people that have come from a war zone.

There is a difference ....... there's nothing in Afghanistan to conquer, no great cities, no great towns except Kabul etc which isn't exactly Baghdad.

Afghanistan is the wild west and unless you like roaming mountains or marching through bushes trying to smoke out village rebels then best not bother.

ISIS is generating money from Iraqi towns and cities and are not native to Iraq the way local Afghan rebels are, ISIS can only flee from one ISIS base to another eventually they'd be pushed out completely, you can't take all the Afghans out of Afghanistan ......... there is a difference.

PS - Nice story Zedie lol, I know a Taxi driver called Haydar who's Afghan and even though he's about 13.5 to 14st at a guess he's got caveman strength hands, you can feel it even when he shakes your hand, he's got that mad Kung-Fu grip strength.
Yeah some Afghans are just abnormal mountain boys, nice people though, just not when you cross the line.

Syria is no Afghanistan but hardly as flat as f.e. Iraq which only have some some few mountains near the border to Iran and Syria..
AFAIK Afghanistan has more cities as Syria with a Population over 100.000

Image

They also had other groups to fight like Al Qaeda and friends some other jihadi groups aso. with tens of thousands battle hardened veterans from f.e. Iraq, Lybia, Balkans, Georgia, Chechnya, Afghanistan and Pakistan plus trained mercenaries and some dickheads from Europe with military knowledge.
The U.S. State Department was babbling about 40.000 foreign fighters from over one hundread countries in 2016. Russia estimated that the number is much higher and ISIS alone had around 30.000 foreign fighters these numbers seem much closer to the truth if you followed the conflict.

Pakistan has zero involvement in Syria, maybe a few lone fighters who went here and there (And that too on Assad's side, because it's the Shias who've gone)

Think our local terrorists have enough local problems to deal with, now that so many operations are going on lol

Pakistan’s Hand in the Rise of International Jihad
(...) Ahead of Pakistan’s 2014 operation in North Waziristan, scores, even hundreds, of foreign fighters left the tribal areas to fight against President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. Tribesmen and Taliban members from the area say fighters traveled to Quetta, and then flew to Qatar. There they received new passports and passage to Turkey, from where they could cross into Syria. Others traveled overland along well-worn smuggling routes from Pakistan through Iran and Iraq.

The fighters arrived just in time to boost the sweeping offensive by ISIS into Iraq and the creation of the Islamic State in the summer of 2014. (...)

Pakistan Taliban says its fighters in Syria
Armed group says first batch of fighters have arrived and have set up a command and control centre to begin operations.

The Pakistani Taliban has said its first batch of fighters has arrived in Syria to fight alongside rebels battling the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

Abdul Rashid Abbasi, the group's spokesperson, said the fighters had set up a command and control centre to start operations in the war-torn country. Speaking to local media on Tuesday, he said another batch of at least 120 fighters were expected to join the force in Syria later this week. http://www.aljazeera.com - 16 JULY 2013

Pakistani Taliban likely to send more fighters to Iraq and Syria
Pakistani Taliban militants offered help to radical Muslim groups fighting in Iraq and Syria, according to a statement marking the Muslim holy festival of Eid al-Adha on October 4. Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah addressed the fighters in the Middle East as "mujahideen brothers" and vowed to support them. "Mujahideen fighting in Iraq and Syria are our brothers and we are proud of their victories.

Hassan Abbas: More recently, the Pakistani Taliban have also found their way into the Syrian conflict and the latest declaration is a product of the new networking process taking place around the battle for Syria. This was bound to happen but in the West we fooled ourselves into believing otherwise.
