My Mum went to see him live. They went to the stage door afterwards to try to meet him and she said you could smell the tour bus from across the street, the weed was so strong. That was only about 15 years ago

I wonder how long he's been smoking for. Finally catching up to him apparently.

Thanks. She has been living with kidney failure for at least nine years, controlling it just with diet because, quote:

"What do I bloody want dialysis for at my age, waste of bloody time. Go into the kitchen would you, theres a bottle of champagne in the fridge. It wont drink itself"

Seriously, thats her. Looks like she's going to die of something completely unrelated as well.

Well hopefully she had a good long life.

I had a grandma like that too. She drank til her last day. Her 3rd heart attack finally killed her.

My dad (her son), is heading in the same direction. Drinks and smokes everyday, puts extra salt on every meal, already had 1 heart attack. Thinks it's all in gods hands and doesn't need to take care of himself.

God gives you a brain to think and hands not to apply salt to your meals with.....

What can you do? If you bring this stuff up it only causes arguments

Sometimes people get a warning shot and that gives them the impetus to change their diet and improve their fitness. I can’t imagine not wanting to live for as long as possible, but having said that I drink too much and eat a lot of crap!

That's what I'm doing now.

Dropping salt unless its a sprinkle on my main dinner of the day.

No sugar only on Sundays and the odd Friday, not even having sugar in coffee.

Going to try and move to have red meat during the week once a month, although that's tough for me as Lamb and Beef are my fav.

Going to have fruit and Veg daily.

Keep up my gym.

Thing is as you reach your forties you have to take into account of a life time of mileage in your arteries, blood pressure, kidneys, liver, heart, auto immune system.

Funny thing is 80% of that is what we choose to put in our body and 20% is genetics.

Friend of mine had a heart attack at 39 ffs from partying 2-3 nights in a row for years, now he's had to pack it all in, moderation and you can go longer.

Some people dramatically change their lifestyle in later life and go onto live for decades.

Look at Keith Richards FFS..... how has he made 75?

And we lost Bowie at 68 and couple days.

How Keef made it past 30 is a wonder. Willie Nelson has looked to be 86 for twenty years, yet still strumming.

It's definitely a lot more related to genetics.

I've known men who've drank gallons of alcohol and smoked hundreds of cigarettes on a weekly basis, - and roll about the floor fighting people far too often - yet still live into their 80s.
