Winner!

My car just gone was a Merc as well, I was looking at BMW but it almost brought me to tears just thinking about it lol, unless it was one of the more expensive 5 series M sports or something but I really wanted to stay as a Merc driver, BM's are nice but they're a bit boy racer if you get one of the normal models, either that or their very generic.

Quality cars.

Do you know why the German car industry has been so successful since the 50s?

Because they weren’t allowed to build or develop weapons, or defense systems. All of those engineers and engineering scientists worked in the automotive industry.

Same with the Japanese.

Which model are you getting?

C-Class Sports.

I'm just a town hopper, I only really drive to work and to the gym so I don't want anything too big like an E-Class plus the car park is awful and usually has tight spaces so I didn't want anything bigger.

My previous car was a Merc CLC and it was handy for that exact reason as it has a short rear, but I always wanted a full saloon Merc so made the jump.

About the Germans, the other thing coming from the war is that Germans believe in making things well, strong durable parts and reliability, they don't cheap out like Japanese, British and American parts which are all cheap parts to increase profit.

Lovely car.

Volvo are catching up with the Germans fast! My car has been an Audi since 97....currently have an S5 convertible. Great cars.

Oooh S5's are very nice, is it hard top convert or soft top?

Drove my C-Class home from London today, was very nice on the open road, just finished messing around with the settings, hooking up my external audio equipment (otherwise known as my ipod) and pairing the Bluetooth etc.

I'm happy with it, its not a brand new C-Class though because I paid for it outright, but it'll do.

The new range Audi's and Merecedes lines are off the hook lately but bloody expensive.

I could lease but I just don't like spunking £400 of my wages every month for years to come, rather just pay and own and use the money for other things, holidays, house improvements etc.

Quite right too, buying a quality second hand car will save you bundles and it’s still a great car. These PCP deals are great at getting you a cheap new car, but after three years, reality hits!

I just chopped in the wife’s XC60 for a high mileage Audi avant to release some cash. 3yrs old, 96k miles 1 business owner and it’s mint and drives like new. 2L diesel just run in.

(S5 Cabriolet btw)

What do you like to do? Is this a couple of family holiday? Beach or something else?

Safari/beach combo is always a winner! Dom Rep great for all inclusive great value holidays, Mexico for beach and culture.

Russia. August is best time to visit. No point spending loads going to Asia or the Southern Hemesphe when it's the wrong time of year

Why would you go in August when its the school holidays and prices are through the roof? Wait until Sept and your costs probably halve!

It all depends on your budget, but Mexico is great!

MJ was a better performer, but in terms of music/songwriting Prince is superior.

I know it's subjective but I prefer his voice too, it's grittier. He's also far more versatile.

Lennon's voice > McCartney's voice for the same reason.
