She got £40 for them.
What would she do with the money? Go and have a nice lunch with her friend.

Incredible! Reflects badly on the programme too, which should have seen how bad it looked.

Why not? The medals were gifted to her and she isn't a minor (unless 18 is still a minor in the UK idk), so since they were in her legal possession, she should be able to do to them what she sees fit.
It'd be like you inheriting a house that's been in your family for generations. Would you find it acceptable if you were unable to sell it because of the sentimentality others may have for it, even though you don't care one way or another about the house?
I do agree with you that what she did was in bad taste, and if she wasn't so naive (just guessing because I don't actually know her), then she could've gotten more money selling them to a collector or a family member if money was all she was after.

These were not just any old posession. They were medals her great grandfather had been given as the sole recognition of his having gone through heaven knows what for his country.
Maybe my mind works differently, but I would treasure those medals, and think about him every time I looked at them.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.... unless we can get a few quid for the medals they earned.

I've attended two Ayahuasca retreats there, won't hear a bad word out of me... apart from Magaluf.
So did you take Ayahuasca?

Two stays a year apart, four ceremonies in total.
