Does anyone think this behaviour is suspicious?

Postby Midlands_Gunner » Wed Apr 17, 2024 3:35 am

Last year a lad who I would say is in his 20's moved in on the next street from me.

A few weeks later, I noticed a car park on my street, some bloke got out and walked around to the next street and went to the new residents house, 2 minutes later he comes back and drives off.

Then this would start happening daily or every second day, sometimes the same car other times different cars and different people, just parking on my street, then getting out and walking to the next street just to visit him for 2 minutes and then leaving.

Other times, a car would pull up and just sit there, then the guy from the next street would walk along to it, get in, the car would then drive all the way to the end of my street where the lad has just walked from, drop him off and he'd walk back to his house.

After about 3 months the routine started to change, people would only park on my street 1 or 2 times a week, however, I started to notice him going for 5 minute walks regularly, so I decided I would try and see where he goes... there's a church at the end of the street with a lay-by outside it, the cars that used to park on my street are now parking in the lay-by and he goes and sits in their car for less than a minute and then gets out and walks back home.

Other times he gets into his own car and drives to the church lay-by, then comes back 5 minutes later, he's had 4 cars in the last 6 months and always goes for the same model.

Sometimes he will go out to his car, sit there for 5 minutes making the brake lights flash on and off - then he'll drive off, first I thought perhaps he just has a wiring fault - but, he does the same thing in the other cars.

All the above can happen at random times, 10am / 1pm / 4pm / 7pm / 9pm / midnight right through to 3am etc.

Would this come across as suspicious if you saw it happening near you?

I was thinking maybe drugs,

I did have a look at my local Police website, there is a form to report suspicious activity... however, one of the first questions it asks is - what is my ethnicity.

No wonder the Police get accused of racism, what does my skin colour have to do with anything, just makes me think that if a black, Indian, Chinese person etc wanted to report a crime they probably wouldn't bother.

Well after the police website asked for my race, I came off the site and decided I'd try and handle it myself ;)

The guy obviously thinks the residents round here are to thick to notice - so I think that makes him fair game... I think he should buy me a season ticket ;)

Here's the plan...
PayPal... back in the day you could open a PayPal account and use it to sell things on eBay, you didn't need to add a bank account until after you receive £500 - You could basically use a made up name and address and when you get up to £490 send it to your real account.

I'm thinking of making 4 x PayPal accounts - with the intention of getting him to send £450 to each one (football reference to 45 mins) this would give me £1800.

MoonPig... back in the day, you could pay for custom cards on MoonPig using PayPal, you could make a picture using PaintBrush on the PC to have printed on the front, then you could add a custom verse and note inside etc.

My greetings card design... I'm going to put a picture on the front of Robbie Fowlers coke snorting goal celebration.

On the inside cover... I have a list of dates, times and number plates - I'm going to list a few but not all of them.

The verse... all these cars visit you... yet no sign of the boys in blue... if you want to keep it that way... you could pay... I got times, dates and plates, your a busy guy I must say... 4 x £450 by the date below... and I'll throw all this info away.

Name section... 4 x PayPal account email addresses and the date Wednesday May 1st 2024.

On the other hand, I could just set up a Facebook account with a different name, join my towns Facebook group and post a list of the cars that visit the church lay-by and put a description of the guy and the route I see him taking but miss out the fact that he lives on the next street just so I'm not violating any rules if it turns out it's totally innocent. Maybe other residents will say they've noticed and maybe even have some CCTV or dash cam footage etc.

I'm guessing to take the Facebook route, I would need to buy a sim card which has data on it from eBay so that it doesn't flag up as having the same IP address as my own account.

IF there are any Police Officers that use GoonersWorld, I would be more than happy to send them a list of times, dates and number plates etc for them to pass on as long as they don't ask my ethnicity!

I don't see the big deal even if he is selling drugs, as long as he isn't selling to little kids, let the man eat food !
