When was the last time you booked doctors appointments and saw the same doctor twice in a row?
Actually when was the last time you saw a doctor. First you have to get through to reception, then a nurse calls you back, then you get told to call 101 and then you might be allowed to speak to a doctor over the phone to see if he/she needs to see you!
I've been fobbed off with a nurse, paramedic, visit to out of hours doctor and finally got shirty when they tried fobbing me off with the paramedic again. It's madness!

I decided, what with all the adverse news on NHS lead times, (especially on cancer treatment) to take out private health cover in 2020 for me and the wife. Glad I did because I started getting something called Atrial Fibrillation, which is when rogue elec signals in the heart, cause it to go out of rhythm. It seems to be quite common, but for me it meant no exercise etc and the NHS waiting lists for the treatment are forever. So am going through the process currently in what will hopefully be a couple of months for two procedures, that would cost £20k if I had to pay for it.
